New World

Prologue

The Earth has been in existence for over 4.543 billion years, ever since the two planetesimals crashed into each other, forming it, along with the moon. Everyone knows that the Earth, so far, is the only planet with life, that's us. From humans to paramecium, the Earth is full of life, everyone is a small part of a big community which is the Earth's population.

Now, according to history, back in 2011 the population of humans was 7 million. Well, let's just say those numbers may have increased slightly. With all the new resources astronauts are finding on the other planets, which also have atmospheres, business is booming, the demand for products is rising by the second, the need for workers steadily increasing. Therefore, there are now 20 billion people in the world.

Of course, it's 2499 so some have colonized Mars, but even on Mars, which has no atmosphere, they are forced to have an artificial bubble surrounding them, as well as huge space crafts that would shoot asteroids heading towards Mars out of space.

Now, one big problem. We're running out of resources. The amount of fresh water left will only suffice maybe a few more hundred years, and then, the human race will become extinct. We ran out of meat in 2310's so it's all artificial now. The ozone layer is very thin, so there are protective bubbles made of special fibers reaching almost to the sky, and trapping oxygen, but the radiation is kept out.

Even though, scientists and architects are doing the best they can at preserving people, the number of cancer patients increase by the year. That's why the discovery we made was astounding. We had found another planet, twice as big as ours, but with perfect conditions, and humans.
