"Watch out!"
Jason started. He had been daydreaming again.
"Wha?" He turned just in time to see Bucky speed past on a motercycle.
"Hey, Buddy, be careful!" a voice said. Jason turned to see a boy standing beside him. It was Cedric. Cedric was pretty much Jason, but crazier. Much crazier.
"Hashtag was that bucky Barnes?" Cedric asked, jaw dropping.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah," Jason replied. He was kinda out of it today.
"Jasonnnn, what's going on?" Cedric asked, kind of annoyed at Jason's slowness today.
"I dunno. Let's go take a break."
"But we're not doooiiinngg an. Y. Thing."
Jason shrugged and headed back to the Avengers facility. Cedric followed and they made their way to the main building.
Inside, Wanda and Vision were busy making dinner for everyone. Cedric plopped down on the couch and picked up a magazine. Jason looked out the window over to the nearby Jedi temple.
"Looks like some of the Jedi are coming over here," he noted.
"Yeah, I invited everyone here for dinner," Wanda explained.
"Everyone?" Jason asked, surprised.
"Everyone?" Cedric asked, excited.
"Yes, EVERYONE," Wanda and Vision replied in unison.
At that moment, Cap, Tony, and Thor walked in the room, jawing about hammers and elevators being worthy and whatnot. It was so weird seeing them together, after the civil war and everything.
"Hey, can you boys help get the dishes out?" Wanda asked Cedric and Jason. They walked over there and began to get out tons of bowls.
"So how many people exactly are coming?" Cedric asked, having to raise his voice over the commotion from the ever-growing crowd of people.
The 5CC walked in, a strange group of kids consisting of Peter Parker, Rebecca, Aragorn, Mitchell, and Moriah. They did everything together. The other young adults at the compound all felt somewhat jealous that they didn't have a group of friends like that. Not that they couldn't, but...
"Jason!" Startled, he turned and saw Cedric staring impatiently at him, while Mace Windu calmly held out his hand.
"Could you pass me that plate, son?" he asked politely. Jason handed him what he wanted and turned away. This wasn't enough for Cedric, who grabbed him by the shoulders and just about shook the life outta him.
"Hey! Jason! Snap out of it! What's gotten into you today?"
"I-I'm sorry, I don't know," Jason replied, who had not snapped out of it. Everything was blurry and moving in slow motion.
"Hey, Buck, who's your favorite pancake?" he heard Cap ask slowly.
"Jason! Jason!" He was sure Cedric was still yelling at him but he didn't care.
"Jason, I need help with these bowls," Wanda was telling him. Then, without warning, a blinding light with the likeness of an angel appeared in front of him.
"Come with me," she said. Jason took her outstretched hand and let her take him wherever she would, which he would soon learn was not in this world.
