It was another boring Sunday, just the same as the rest. Mother was droning on about how my arranged marriage would secure a safe future with not only the Eastern Commonwealth, but the whole of the Earthen Union.
As attractive as I found the young prince, I felt no attachment. I figured he'd be the kind to have a new woman of power on his arm at all times, where as I have only been kissed once by a palace guard on my birthday. I remember it well.
My cousin Winter and I were walking when I bumped into him. 'Sorry Highness. Didn't see you there.' I smiled at the tall guard. 'The fault is all mine Sir--' 'Kyle, Sir Kyle miss. And I insist it's my fault. How can I make it up to you?' I looked at him and whispered, 'It's my birthday you know, and it'd be a shame if you didn't give me a little something...' I said in a sultry tone. He smirked, and gave me a kiss. Not a peck, but a proper kiss. Our lips moved in sync, until I pulled away, touching my lips. 'Well, until next I see you, Sir Kyle.' Winter and I interlocked arms, and walked off giggling. I swayed my hips, blowing a kiss back to him.
"Selene? Darling, are you feeling well?" asked my mother, waving a hand worriedly in my face. I used her concern as an opportunity to escape her monologue about my wedded life. "Not quite Mother. If you wouldn't mind excusing me, I'm in dire need of rest." She nodded, kissing my cheek as I kissed hers.
I stood with ease, and walked from the parlor enjoying the familiarity of the clicking of my heels against the cold marble floor. Although I didn't particularly want to marry Prince Kaito, I couldn't wait for my wedding day which was fast approaching.
