It was a simple shot, one which sparked the aspiring photographer's curiosity and creativity, what was Steve Harrington thinking about as he stared out that window? Having always had a knack for trying to figure people out, simply observing them, this question was almost inevitable to Jonathan Byers. So, just as he was prone to studying people, he was prone to snapping photos of people, finding an artistic view in someone who was lost in thought. The male, whom sat in the far back, subtly lifted his camera, and snapped the photo of Steve in his picturesque state before the bell sounded, ushering him to quickly gather his things. Jonathan dodged the pointed look of others, pushing his way through the gathering group of students before he exited the classroom, making a beeline toward the high school's developing room, where most of his time was spent after the day had ended.

----

To be honest, Steve Harrington didn't care much for class, gazing out of the window as the teacher was speaking. A sigh escaped his lips. How much longer would this class last? Because it seemed as if they'd been sitting here for over a century. Then, at last, the bell sounded, and Steve let out a sigh of relief, gathering his stuff and moving to head out of the classroom, Tommy and Carol walking next to him.

---

It hadn't taken long for his photos to develop, and for a moment, Jonathan admired them; there were a total of five and only two of them consisted of Steve, the one of him aimlessly gazing out the window and the other being of Steve suavely leaning against the lockers, chatting a girl up-the other three had been miscellaneous things, like his records and the scenery surrounding his home. Once he gathered the photographs, the male abruptly turned, opening the door while simultaneously attempting to slip the photos into his bag, juggling the weight of his textbooks as well. Before the eldest Byers sibling could process what was happening, both the photos he had taken and his school materials went sprawling across the floor, ultimately playing victim to Steve's sidekick, Tommy H. Jonathan was silent, his heart beating wildly within his chest, the photos of Steve sticking face up for all to see-instinctively, and he hadn't known why, the blonde-haired boy glanced up at Steve, his lips thinning into a firm, silenced line.

---

Tommy H. and Carol were talking about who knew what as they walked. To be honest, Steve didn't care what they were yapping about. He just wanted to go home, away from school. The yapping continued, until they heard a sound. It was the sound of Jonathan's things falling to the floor. Almost on cue, Tommy H. leaped forward.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" Tommy said, as he bent down to take a closer look at Jonathan's belongings. "A photo. And look who's /on/ it," Tommy said in a almost mocking way. He had picked both photos up, passing them to Steve, who first only raised a brow at the photos, before glancing over at Jonathan. Steve actually felt kind of honoured. But, being the popular guy, he sure as hell couldn't let anyone know about it. "We're you spying on me?" he asked Jonathan instead, as Tommy H. snatched the photos from him.

---

"Don't-" before Jonathan could retrieve his things, Tommy, like the dick he was, beat him to it. Almost instantly, the wall he generally always had up returned and his eye contact with Steve had been broken. "No," he muttered, squeezing the strap of his backpack tightly, his tone quiet, timid even, "It's not like that," Jonathan stated, glancing toward the floor, his shoulders stiffening as he attempted to retrieve the photos from Tommy, only to have his arm shoved away. This - action, along with Steve's expression, made Jonathan immediately go quiet again, his jaw clenching as the anxious feeling within him only grew.

---

"Oh, so taking snaps of unsuspecting people isn't spying?" Tommy asked, not trying to hide the accusation in his voice. Steve wanted to tell him to shut up, but that might indicate that he didn't mind the photos, so he remained silent for now.
Tommy gave one of the pictures to Carol, before making the tiniest rip in the other photo.
