It was supposed to be an innocent game of man hunt with me and my friends. It was a dark chilly night, the moon was shinning beautifully from above.
"Okay so who's ready?" Asked Josh looking around our little group who consisted of me, him, Sarah, Mike, Lily, and four other kids ( invited by josh) who came along to our little gathering behind Mike's house.
We all nodded our heads signaling for him to continue.
"Alrighty then, Tyler," he said pointing to one of the other boys, "You, Kalub, Shawn and Kaytlin are gonna come find us," he gestured to us "After... hmmm let's say six minutes, okay?"
They stared at him and nodded their heads after awhile of silence agreeing to his proposal.
"Weirdos" I thought to myself as they kept quite.
You see, since earlier this day when we were introduced to Tyler, Kalub, Shawn and Kaytlin I've gotten this weird vibe from them, but brushed it off since I've been told many times that I 'exaggerate' to much, whatever that means.
"Okay, guys" Josh said getting my attention back on him "Give us a minute head start, NOW!"
Josh ran towards the big, no humongous back yard that grew many trees and bushes. It looked creepy in the dark, like those creepy forest you usually see in horror movies or shows, with different sounds being heard from the trees. It seemed like I was the only one who really heard the noises though.
Once we took off after Josh, I looked back to see if those kids have given us our time to hide, and saw that they had disappeared.
The five of us that were gonna hide split up into two groups. Sarah, Mike and I in one team then Lily and Josh in another. We thought this would be easier, to go in groups. So as my group went further into the dark I pulled my gray jumper closer around me to keep me warm from the cool air the blew through the trees, making the leaves fall to the ground.
"Hey Liza?" I heard Mikey say from behind me, the crunching of the leaves becoming more frequent telling me he was trying to catch up.
"Where's Sarah?"
I stopped in my tracks and turned around, my arms falling from around myself. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked behind him to check for myself.
'She was just with us wasn't she?' I thought to myself, then voiced my thoughts after looking around a little more.
"Maybe she went a different route without us." I told Mike as he now walked besides me with his arm around my shoulders. We walked a little further trying to find a good place to hide in.
As I followed Mike to what he insisted was the 'best spot to hide at', my mind started to wonder. 'Where could've Sarah gone to? Wouldn't she have at least told me or Mike she was going her own way?'
