New Year's Eve~Gerard Way

Start from the beginning

Before either of them could answer, there was a pair of arms around my waist and the weight of someone's head in my shoulder. "Hi," Gerard said in my ear and I rolled my eyes, smiling as I blushed. "Hey," I returned, giving a look at the girls like 'please don't say anything'.

Jamia cleared her throat and said, "Um do you want me to take your jackets, Y/N, Gerard?" He pulled away almost hesitantly and took off his jacket and he motioned for me to hand mine over. "Thanks Jamia but I got it," he smiled at her and she agreed, turning back to me with a smirk. Kristin smiled and said, "Maybe I should go get Christa in on this. She wouldn't wanna miss it, you know."

I nodded, smiling nervously at my friends. I still felt fluttery from when Gerard came up behind me earlier and I wasn't sure I could stand right. Because emotions, you know?

"Do you wanna go talk to the boys?" Jamia asked and I shrugged, "Yeah, ok." She smiled and linked her arm with mine and led me over to Frank, Mikey, Kristin, Ray, and Christa. "Y/N! It's been forever!" Frank groaned dramatically and hugged me. "Dude, you just saw me literally yesterday," I argued, laughing. "I know, which was forever ago," he stated calmly. "Whatever," I said, smirking at his craziness.

"Kristin, I'm gonna go get something to drink, do you want anything?" She shook her head and asked Jamia, who also didn't want anything.

I went over to the drink table, trying not to let my slight social anxiety get to me. I started pouring a solo cup full of Mountain Dew when someone appeared behind me and said, "Can you make an alcoholic drink for me?"

I turned, and upon seeing someone unfamiliar, I shook my head politely. "I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong person," I said and tried to walk away after putting the cap back on the bottle. The stranger grabbed my free wrist and pulled me back. He seemed a bit tipsy and I got a bit uncomfortable. I scanned the small crowd for Gerard but I couldn't find him.

"Hey lady, what's your name?" He kept trying to get in my face and just when I'm about to pour my drink over the creep's head, there's a voice answering for me. "Her name is not your business. You're making her uncomfortable, please back off," I turned to see an unhappy Gerard, which made me feel loved again.

Creeper backed off, letting go of my wrist and grabbing my drink instead. "Looks like you already have a date. What a shame," he sighed and walked away, drinking my Mountain Dew. At least he left.

Gerard put his hand on my shoulder lightly, asking, "Are you ok?" I shrugged, feeling slightly dazed. "Let's go back over there, ok?" I asked but then a song started to play, one that I recognised easily. "Yo, who wants to dance?" Frank asked, suddenly turning this into some kind of dance party. What the hell?

Frank seemed to be silently arguing with someone in this direction. I caught him and Gerard fighting playfully and finally Frank motioned for Gerard to go to where everyone was dancing.

He turned to me nervously and sighed. "Well, I didn't know this was a dancing party. Probably why that idiot gave me dancing lessons last week." He seemed to be mentally cussing Frank right now.

I smiled a little before it faded away. "It's ok but uh. . . I don't know how to dance," I admitted nervously. "Well, I didn't until last week. But no worries, I have an idea," he winked and led me over to the 'dance floor'.

It was a slow song, so he took one of my hands in his, put my other on his shoulder and put his other hand on my waist. "I'm gonna show you that trick now, ok?" I nodded and he picked me up subtly, giving a little spin as he placed me lightly back on what I thought was the floor. But when my feet started moving, I knew what he'd done. "You just put my feet on yours, didn't you?" I asked, knowing the answer before he gave a guilty smile.
