"I'M OFF TO WORK, BYE" I shouted as I left my flat in a hurry, as per usual. I was the manager of a small shop, you probably haven't heard of it. I'd been working there for 5 years, since 2016, and had worked my way up the hierarchy.
Recently we'd increased our opening hours so we were open 24/7. It was more a curse than a blessing, seeing as for the next few weeks I was on night shift. Night shift was alright I guess, a lot of drunk people came in and a lot of late night tourists, not that Didcot had any clubs or tourists.
I arrived at work and put my bag into a locker. I didn't want to be there, I would have preferred to be asleep.
"Right, can you two do tills, you two on shop floor, and you two on stock. I'll be in the office." At least if I was in the office I could get away with not working. Plus I had the bonus of being able to hear what was going on at the tills.
