You tell me I'm to nice.
And my attitude towards her wont suffice.
You say she's not a real friend.
That she will continue to hurt me until the end.
You say I need to see her thru everybody else's eyes.
That I need to recognize her manipulation and her lies.
You tell me she's greedy.
That she latched on to me because I'm to needy.
You tell me I need to wake up.
And our friendship I need to breakup.
You say she uses me for her own gain.
But did you know its her that comes running when I'm in pain.
You tell me its you who really cares.
You say she doesn't have a right and I just sit and stare.
Because I know its you who only visits my life.
Its her who holds my hand thru the daily strife.
Our friendship may not make sense to you.
But who ever said it had to.
But you are my family.
So I wont tell you what I see.
It wouldn't matter what I said or how much I kick and fight.
Because in your mind your right.
I don't have to explain or defend.
Because in my heart I know she's a true friend.
You will leave soon like you always do.
And she will hold my hand as I shed tears over you.
You say I'm to loyal and blind and I should let her be.
But these same qualities that you curse, are why there is still a you and me.
Its you who say's you love me and then walks away.
Its you who keeps promising its going to be different someday.
I know its not.
I also know its all you've got.
You are who you are.
I accept that and don't push to far.
If I can do it for you.
Why not her too?
I am who I am and I can't change.
If I did your life wouldn't be the same.
If I stopped forgiving.
Without me you would have to go on living.
So I will continue to love you.
As I will continue to love my friend too.
