How It All Began

"Arabella, please give this a chance! You need somebody to help pay the rent!" Jenna pleads. I shook my head back and forth, not quite sure how this was going to work out for anybody involved.

My mind immediately takes me back to the beginning of this feud. Josh was in the 8th grade and I was in 6th grade, we took the same bus every single day. My parents were never really too concerned with me, even at such a young age. I had to learn to do everything myself, to take care of myself. I would make my own meals, wake myself up for school, do my own hair, everything. They were always too engulfed in their careers to help me with anything. Josh would come sit next to me on the bus every morning as I tried to keep to myself.
He would start off the day by harshly tugging at my ponytail and saying the same thing every morning as tears welled in my eyes from the pain of him pulling my ponytail roughly. "What's the matter, little baby? Why don't you stop wearing ponytails, they make you look like a boy anyway." The rest of the children on the bus laughed harder everyday he did this. Little did I know that what would happen a few weeks later would make the hair tugging seem like a walk in the park.

"Arabella! Are you even listening to me anymore?" Jenna yells as she snaps her fingers in front of my face, bringing me right back to the present. I grabbed at my ponytail and held it tightly, feeling some comfort as I twirled at it lightly.

"I'm so sorry, Jenna. I just started daydreaming a little. Sure, I'll try my best to get along with him for the sake of you and Tyler, but I can't promise that this is going to work." I mutter unenthusiastically, pursing my lips together. Living with the boy who used to bully me, sounds like a fucking blast if you ask me. Tyler and Jenna are lucky that I love them, if it was anybody else asking me this, I'd tell them there's no way in hell, but I owe them both too much to not at least indulge their request to live with this trouble making red haired boy.

Jenna snaked her arms around my waist and squeezed as tightly as she could, causing me to hold in the last of the breath I had in my lungs. "Thank you so much Arabella! You don't know how much this means to us!"

I patted her arms lightly and nodded my head "Okay jenna, I can't breathe!" She released me from her grip and chuckled. "Thank you. You know I'd do anything for you and Tyler, you guys are my best friends." I smiled lightly as I spoke to her. We walked arm in arm around the park, changing the subject from Josh to literally anything else we thought of. She knew that this would be hard on Josh and I, living together when we can barely stand to be in a room togrther without one of us pissing the other off and storming out, refusing to return until the other leaves. At least he was the one moving, not me. I look at the brightside of not having to pack all of my belongings and uprooting my life, no, they left that for him thankfully.

We silently walked back to our shared house, savoring the last of the time we have together before she marries Tyler. When we arrive to the house, I hug her and murmur something about being tired and going to sleep before I rush off to my room.

I lazily take off all of my clothes, as I like to sleep naked. I throw my body onto my bed, and before I know it my eyes are closed and I'm gone.

Dream flashback:

Josh ran onto the bus and sat next to me again, starting to tug on my ponytail. I already had a headache from not sleeping well the night before. I looked over and him and punched him as hard as I could in the nose, screaming as loud as I could.

"You're going to pay for that, you little brat!" He says while running to the back of the bus, holding his throbbing red nose and his broken pride. A smile spread it's way across my lips as I knew that I had finally gotten him to leave me alone for the first time in six months. Finally. Little did I know I had just begun the war of a lifetime, a war that would haunt me to this very day.

I woke up to the feeling of something soft being thrown at me. I sat up, holding my thin sheet as tightly as I could to my body, even though the sheet was practically see through. I didn't even bother opening my eyes as I shot up quickly. "Jenna, why in the hell are you throwing things at me? Just let me sleep in peace!" I rubbed my eyes to wake up as I yelled at her.

"It's not Jenna, sweetheart." A deep voice rumbled and let out a few giggles, throwing something else at me. My eyes shoot open as soon as I hear the males voice, as I feel a heat rising all throughout my body. I clutch my sheet to my body even tighter than I was previously, looking around to see dirty socks balled up all around me realizing that is what was thrown at me. I ran as fast as I could with my sheet clinging to my body and slammed my body as hard as I could onto my door. Which pushes the man out of my room roughly. I swiftly lock my door, trying not to lose my cool.

"Joshua. Firstly, always fucking knock before coming into my room. Secondly, what kind of animal throws dirty socks at somebody?! Grow the hell up!" I scream louder as the words stream out of my mouth. I throw my hand on my forehead, shaking my head back and forth. He just laughs loudly, like he's proud of himself for disturbing my right as I woke up.

"I'm glad I didn't knock Arabella, from what I saw through that sheet you have a nice rack, much better than when you were in 6th grade!" He laughs loudly, amused by himself and his actions.

"Piss off before I punch you again!" I shout right before I blast music as loud as I can from the speakers in my room so that I can't hear him reply. I small and draw in a deep breath before dropping my sheet and walking to my bathroom to shower and start my day. I'll definitely be staying in my room today to avoid that moron. Maybe I'll dye my hair bright pink, I have nothing better to do.

So, this is my first time writing any type of story for potentially a bunch of people to see and I'm super nervous and hope you guys will enjoy it as the storyline progresses! Please be kind if I've made any mistakes, and if there is a story out there similar to this I apologize, I had a small plot idea in my head and I'm honestly just winging it! I'd love to know what you guys think and of course constructive criticism is welcome. <3
