I could feel my consciousness slowly dragging me out of my dream world. I opened my eyes to see nothing but darkness. It was also silent, with no hint of life stirring anywhere around me.
"Where am I?" I say aloud, trying to find an answer.
"You are here, here is where you are." Answers a deep, mysterious voice.
I find that my eyes had finally adjusted to the dim light coming from the single torch on the wall. Nothing was in the room save for a lone cot, a small table and chair, and a few books on a bookshelf. I try to find the source of the voice but could see no one.
"Why am I here?" I ask the disembodied voice.
"That is for you to find out in due time." He answers. I can tell he's male from the voice I hear.
"And how am I supposed to do that?" I retort. I'm becoming aggravated that none of my questions were actually answered.
"You ask too many questions, sit and eat before your dinner gets cold."
I look over to the table and notice there is a plate that wasn't there before. Everything is so curious that I decide to give up for now and eat. There's no point trying to think on an empty stomach anyway. The steam rising from the small opening in the lid shows me that it had just recently been made. I open the lid and see chicken, or what looked like chicken, on the plate with vegetables and noodles. The smell alone made me more hungry, so I sat down and ate the food. Since he didn't kill me already, it was unlikely he would poison the food.
After I ate my meal I felt extremely tired, so I laid down on the cot and started to relax. Before I fell asleep I asked one last question.
"Who are you?"
He replies with one word, "Xerion"
