Ilusion

I heard the honk two seconds too late to turn around. I felt pain, I saw pain, I breathed pain. And then, everything went dark. I braced the darkness, my instant relief almost taking me back to conciousness.

I woke up in my bed. The sun had already risen and my curtains were drawn. I stood up from the bed and paced around my room, too sleepy to think straight.  In a zombie-like state I picked a casual outfit and locked myself in the bathroom to change and prepare for school. But  I didn't have to hurry, I had my car. I didn't have to walk anymore. With a smile, I got in the bathtub, which was somehow filled with warm soapy water. As soon as I felt its warmth, my whole body relaxed. I was drifting off to sleep again, when I heard a soft knock on the door. "Claire? Are you there luv?"

His voice filled my mind. The sensation my name coming from his lips provoked in me overwhelming every cell of my body. The door opened and the love of my life appeared. His dimples showing because of his perfect smile.  "Mind if I join you?"  That was all he needed to say to replace my relaxation for lust. And love.  He took his clothes off carefully, the grace of his movements almost hipnotizing me. He got in the tub next to me and whispered "You are so beautiful".   I felt myself blush as he kissed the spot just below my jaw and then nibbled my ear.

But then I felt pain. Every spot where his body touched mine started to burn. My mind was blinded with a cold sharp sensation and everything went black.

"The doctors said she would be fine. Just some broken bones. Why isn't she waking up?"  My mother's desperate voice filled the room. I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes.I was too tired. I just wanted to get back to my dream with him.
