The surgery

Severus was watching tv by himself, the time on his watch said 6:46 am. Severus didn't normally get up this early but something was bothering him. It was his open heart surgery that was today.

"I have to be at the hospital by noon today " Sev muttered just as his son Draco came downstairs. He didn't say good morning to him. He to was worried and his anxiety levels were skyrocketing. Draco got himself a bowl of cereal and ate it without a word. Sev could tell he was worried if he'd ever see his father again. Suddenly he felt the urge to talk and he just let it go. " buddy is mommy awake yet?" Draco looked at Sev and sighed, not responding to him, getting up and moving into the kitchen to eat. " Draco is something bothering you?" Sev asked, placing a hand on his shoulder. Draco shrugged Sev off, whirled around and screamed," of course something's bothering me you blithering idiot!" He slammed his spoon down and ran upstairs, slamming his bedroom door with a thump. Soon his wife Clara came downstairs. "Sev you made Draco cry again." Clara sighed, kissing him lovingly on the cheek. " Listen, I know you're worried about the surgery and we are too, but you don't need to snap at Draco. He's our son." Sev sighed knowing she was right. " Draco?!" Sev called, trying to apologize to Draco for snapping at him. Soon Draco came downstairs, his eyes red and bleary. He had definitely been crying. " Draco come here " Sev outstretched his hands and Draco jumped into them, crying. " Daddy I'm sorry for yelling at you." Sev pushed him back to look at his face. He wiped a tear off his cheek. " Draco I know you're worried about me having surgery today. I am worried about it too but I can control it." Draco sniffled and nuzzled into Severus's chest. "Oh Draco, you're shaking. You poor baby." Draco stopped whimpering and went to play on his Xbox.
A couple hours later, Severus was getting anxious and scared. It was 11:30. " Honey you know, we should go now." Sev, Draco and Clara went to the car and drove to the hospital.
