The Story of Calliope

Chapter 1

Leo's POV

                        Leo was tired, he felt like he had just run a marathon. In a sense he had, he had just completed making a small palm-sized miniature dragon, similar to Festus, but it smaller and silver, he had also given several magical properties, with the help of Hazel. This new dragon was different, though. It was a girl. And she was already taking after Leo's girlfriend, Calypso, who she was for. She was stubborn and fierce, though sweet and beautiful to. Leo could already tell that Festus was starting to fall for the new silver metal dragon, just like Leo had for his beautiful Calypso. 

                     Leo had been hoping that she would be perfect, just perfect for Calypso. And, so far, she had been a HUGE success, running beautifully, and shrinking and growing back to full size, and even singing/humming. Now, all that she needed was a name. But Leo would leave that to Calypso. Then, right on time, she walked in. Hiding the new dragon behind his back, Leo smiled at her. "Hi Sunshine!!" he said. Calypso smiled and rolled her eyes. She replied," Hi HammerHead!". Suddenly Leo was feeling a bit nervous about this. He smiled shyly at Calypso and said "I have a surprise for you."

Calypso's POV 

                    Calypso was bored, and as she walked through her little garden at Camp Half Blood, she decided that it was enough. She was going to Bunker 9 to see her very weird, cute, and crazy  boyfriend, Leo. As she headed in the general direction of Bunker 9, she waved and smiled at a few of her new nymph friends, Juniper, Ashely, Aspen, and Pip, who were all named by their parents after trees, so naturally as nymphs they inhabited the tree that they were named after. 

                   She was soon standing in front of the cliff that was the entrance to the bunker. Sighing, she got out the special key that had been made for the leader of each cabin and her, of coarse. She walked over to the small bolder and taped it 5 times in a certain indent on the rock. a small key hole opened and she inserted her key. The door swung open in time for her to see Leo hide something small and silver behind his back. He grinned his goofy smile that made her heart flutter and said, "Hi Sunshine!!". Smiling a little she returned his grin(while rolling her eyes of coarse, one could never let on that she thought her boyfriend was silly) and replied "Hi HammerHead!". Then she saw his face change a bit, from nervousness to excitement. 

             She would not have to wait long in puzzlement, though, because he said next, "I have a surprise for you." She watched as he pulled from out behind him the flash of silver that she had seen before. He said "go on, girl, go and say hi to your new friend." and in a flash of silver there was a little dragon, about palm sized sitting on her shoulder. The little dragon started humming with joy and excitement. Calypso gasped and took the dragon into her hands. She started stroking it's metal back as she asked Leo, "Is she for me?? Can I name her??" laughing, Leo said "Yes, she's for you and you can name her. Do you like her, Calypso??". Beaming with excitement, she replied quickly "Like her? I  LOVE her!! I think I'll name her... Calliope." (you pronounce it CaLyOpee BTW !D)
