i would follow you anywhere
i would do anything for you
i would love you no matter what
but when i tried to tell you
my words were lost in the wind
the wind of her as she waltzed past me headed towards you
and you went to her
as she walked past her heels dug into my heart
cutting through my ribs, leaving me bloody
you didn't seem to care, as long as she came to you even if she stepped on me to get there
i was okay with you clipping my wings but i wasn't ready for you to break them
i was left in the rain
i was left outside
i was left heartbroken
most importantly
i was left alone, something you said would never happen if you were around
our relationship was a rose
you were the flower, beautiful and blossoming
i was the thorn, jagged and unwanted
she was the gardener
she came along and plucked you and cut me away
because no one wants a thorn
no one wants a threat
no one wants something sharp
no one wants something that could hurt them
i said i would follow you anywhere
i said i would do anything for you
i said i would love you no matter what
it was true until my words were nonexistent and swept away by her
