Started out as a medical student at Edinburgh university.
He was actually horrified by operation. Which were performed without anesthesia.
Spent most of his time skipping class to go out and collect biologists specimens.
Darwin flunked out and in desperation his father sent him to cam bridge university to be a minister. Somehow he graduated in 1831.
During his time at cam bridge,Darwin develop a friendship with professor John henshow.
Henshow recognized Darwin's talent in natural history and recommend him for a position as a naturalist
On December 27th, 1831 the HMS beagle sailed from England to survey the cost of south America. On board, as naturalist was Charles Darwin.
At the time, nearly all scientists are accepting the view that God was responsible for the creation of all of the species of organisms.
It was uniformly believed that food designed each species of animal and plant to match its habitat.
What Darwin saw on his voyage led him to doubt the idea that species were constant.
While examining finches Darwin concluded that species changed over time and gave rise to new species.

Darwin returned to England on 1836.
Upon his return , he got married and published several books on other topics.
For 20 years,Darwin continued to collect evidence supporting his ideas about evolution.
Finally in November of 1859, Darwin, published " ON the origin of species". This book turned the scientific community upside down.
In his book, Darwin proposed an idea that contradicts prevailing beliefs.
Furthermore, the implications that apes were closer relatives of humans was unacceptable to many people.
Darwin also proposed that organisms with traits well suited to an environment are more likely to survive and produce offspring that organisms without these favorable traits.
This idea is known as natural selections.
