Well when I turned 7, my life became more... how do you put it... more social? and this is how it went.

I woke up on February 18, 1988 (my birthday), to my mom whispering out side my door. She then busted in to my room with so much excitement, I jumped a little in my bed.

" Happy Birthday, Olive!" My mom said excitingly.

"Morning Mom." I said as I was stretching out my legs.

"Come on, Olive. It's your birthday. You should be more happy."

"I am happy, mom. I'm just waking up. That's all."

She came over to my bed and sat down. Then she laid her hands in her lap.

"Your father called this morning. He wants to see you. As your mother I should make you see him, but I'm not going to do that to you on your birthday. If you what to, I'll take you. It's up to you."

She turned her head and gave me a small smile.

-When I was about 2, my father left me and my mother on the streets. She was 19 with and baby girl and no parents. We lived in a homeless shelter for about two years and that is when my mother found the love of her life. My step dad, Jake Swin. He was a writer for the National Geographic magazine. He took me and my mother under his wing and we have been a happy family ever since, but about the time I started school my mother got a call that said that my father was in a very bad car accident and that after he gets out that he is going to be put in prison for manslaughter and driving under the effluence. Of course my  mother, the wonderful person she is, went to go visit him and brought me with her. And that is when I started to see my dad again.-

"Yea, I would love to see my dad. Why wouldn't I?"

"Nothing, never mind." She said as she smiled up at me.

Then that's when things started to change. At first I didn't think of it at all, but then I heard my dads name and that's when I really started to listen.

"I shouldn't have taken her to go see her father when he was in the hospital. We wouldn't be in this mess, but of course me being me, I had to go see him and he need to see his daughter. I just wish that one day that he will get out and prove to me that his daughter is worth seeing and that good thing and bad things always come with a price."

"Olive, is everything okay?" She said with more concerned then happy.

"Yea. Everything is fine, Why?" I said as I stared at her with... confusion.

"You just seem out of it today. That's all."

"I hope she's aright. I have so much planed for today."

" Nope. Just thinkin' that's all."

"Okay. Well I should get out so you can get dressed. I see you down stairs in a couple of mins okay?"

"Alright see you down stairs."

She got up and walked to door. She then looked backed and smiled.

"I hope she enjoys today. It might be the last time she sees her father in a long time."

Then she walks out and closes the door behind her.

What was that. I literally hear words that weren't even being spoken. Was I... Mind reading?
