I opened my eyes.
Surrounding me is no longer the skyscrapers that I have seen in a daze. All I remember is that I dived down to earth, like a comet hurtling to crash. It hurts.
I turned around. Everything around is a perfection of pristine architecture. White like perfect snow, yet warm like perfect sunlight.
"Where am I?"
"You are awaiting God's final jurisdiction. Cassandra Lupin, you chose a path of no return." Beside me,a figure dressed in white robes emerged from nowhere.
"What do you mean?"
"I'll let your memories return. Then you will understand."
No! I tried to protest, but the memories kept flooding in. My first rejections, my first failures, and my first cries. My despairs, my tears and my fears. The fading skyscrapers and my family's screams
Now I understood.
"Next, Cassandra Lupin."
The next instant, I was brought in front of the Almighty father himself. He sat at the highest alter One could have ever seen, and was reading the longest list one could have ever imagined.
"Cassandra." His voice shook the palace. He was attempting to cover his fury. "You know very well that the life I have given you is not for you to end."
"I know. Lord. But I had no choice."
"No choice? Explain."
"I had not use my opportunities well. I had not made the right choices. I had seen the cruelty and the despairs. I had made my life a mess. My life is useless as well has replaceable. Above all, I knew I had failed you by living in such a way. Therefore, I decided to end this because living this life is too hard to bear." Tears filled my eyes, that I almost cried.
"Well well well Cassandra, as I am the one who created you, I can assure you that not a single person could take your place in my mind. But you indeed failed me,indeed, by making this choice to end your life." God sighed. "Cassandra, I doubt you realized why I decided to send you down to earth."
"Yes. I don't know."
"Cassandra, being a catholic, your teachers must have taught you where you will end up being in till the end of time.
"Yes indeed." My heart raced. God meant Hell. I deserved Hell.
"You don't deserve hell. Not yet."
"I hope I don't."
After what it seems like a century of silence, God speaks again.
"I am giving you a second chance." He decided, and smiled for the first time. "But before you can return, meet your past selves. Learn from them. Learn their Joys, learn their woes. Above all, learn from them the reason why I sent you here."
"I don't deserve this."
"You do. Your soul could still mend. Do mankind a favor. Learn your will to live. Not many people get this chance, treasure it."
"I will."
"So...shall we let this journey begin?"
