Chapter 10:-

"Holy. Mother. Of. Flying. Shit."

Kim words out everything I feel in one phrase. My eyes and mouth are perfectly shaped into big circles as the scene I saw a few minutes ago sinks in. It wasn't my eyes playing tricks on me since Kim also saw it. We just saw Hunter and Jake kiss. On the lips.

Yes, I knew my best friend was gay, but I never got the chance to witness him acting like one. Well I guess that’s been checked off of my 'things to see before I die' list. It was just so sudden. At first, it looked like a normal outing between old friends then bam. It was like seeing a fish walk on land.

I grab a hold of my shirt and squeeze it tightly as I try to sort out my feelings. Am I happy for him? I mean, Jake is quite attractive and they do look nice together; in a gay way. But when I saw them, I felt sick. I hope I'm not turning into a homophobic bastard. I, myself, don't even know why I felt like that.

"You think they're dating?" says Kim curiously as she looks at me slowly. She's obviously enjoying this, unlike me. "Yeah, I guess so." I croak, still looking straight at Hunter who was waving at someone in our direction. Wait.

Oh my god.

"He saw us! Hide!" shouts Kim as she plunges my head down along with her. My heart beats loudly as the suspense starts to build up. I wasn't planning on spying, so why the hell did I spy? Me and my stupid curiosity. I slap myself a couple of times to punish myself, looking like a complete maniac during the process.

"Um…Belle? Why are you hitting yourself?" I hear his voice emanate from above the table. I turn around to see two healthy, well toned legs in jeans and sneakers. "How'd he see us? Oh my god, do all gays have x-ray vision? We're all screwed!" whispers Kim as she gives me this frightened look.

"The table is glass Kim and work on your whispering skills. Now both of you, come out of there." Says Hunter amused. I stay in my fetal position as I stare at the ground. I wasn't ready to face him just yet. I'm not really mad, even though I should be. The fact that he kept his date with Jake a secret from Kim and me is one reason, while the other is still a mystery, even to me.

Kim crawls out loudly while whining about her knees. "I hate crawling and these were my new leggings!" I hear Hunter laugh lightly as he pulls her up to her feet. She pats her clothes violently until not even a single speck of dust is on her clothes.

"Going to come out anytime soon, my lady?" Hunter's head pops out under the table to face me. He smiles gently and reaches out to help me crawl out. I stare at him for a few minutes, settling down my contradicting feelings. Finally, I grab onto his hand, emerge out on all fours and quickly fill the space between Hunter and Kim.

"Thanks Hunter. I just want to say… that Kim made me do it!" I say exaggeratedly with my hands flying everywhere, trying to lighten the mood. "No fair! You were just as curious as I was!" retorts Kim half laughing. Hunter raises a brow as he looks at us with suspicious eyes.

"So, you guys were spying on me, ey?" says Hunter in a joking tone. "Oh please, don't flatter yourself Hunter. I just dropped my… lip gloss!" smiles Kim innocently as she tries desperately to prove our none existent innocence. "That explains why both of you crawled under a table to get it." answers Hunter, still amused by our lies.
