Chapter 13

Blake's P.O.V

We arrived at the neighboring territory. We went to the pack house and made sure to be careful of our surroundings. I decided to only take Talon with me to the Alphas office.

We reached the house and were instantly greeted by a somber beta.

"Hello, I am Kyle. I am the alphas beta. It is very nice to meet you, Blake."

I nodded.

"Alpha wants only you in his office. He's been sketchy ever since the rogues got his father."

"With all do respect-" Talon started.

"I understand." I said. "Talon I will be fine. This man has been put through enough trouble."

"Right this way, Alpha." Kyle said.

He led me the way to his alphas office. It was an awkward silence. I wanted to clarify some details.

"The previous alpha, he was killed by rogues?"

Kyle nodded. "We have a suspicion."

"How olds the new alpha?" I ask.

"Eighteen."

That was young. I mean I'm only twenty-two, but I didn't get the title until I was twenty. "That's young.."

"He's actually dealing with this very maturely." Kyle responded. "Did you say your from New Hale?"

I nodded.

"Small world, so was he."

"He moved here?" I questioned.

"The rogues got his father three days ago. He came almost instantly after he found out. Poor kid had to drop out of school and everything."

I shook my head. "Had he even been through the change?"

"Yesterday, actually."

I was shocked. The young boy went from a normal life, to having lost a father and turning into a wolf.

"Did he know he was going to change?"

"Of course. The only reason he wasn't with his father was because of the divorce. His mother was human and not the alphas fathers real mate. They ignored it and still married. Soon they had a son, but the alpha met his real mate, and left his sons mother.

"That's... Complicated."

He nodded. "Here we are."

He ushered the door. It looked like an office would be in there. Kyle knocked softly. The alpha must have mind-linked him to come in because he opened the door.

We walked in the office and the alpha was turned around facing the wall.

"Alpha, Alpha Blake is here."

I heard what sounded like a growl.

"I'm sorry for your loss." I said respectfully. Ignoring the rudeness radiating off of him.

"Why would you be sorry Blake?" he questioned.

I was speechless.

"Don't be shy old friend." he said. He slowly turned around in his chair.

"I heard you found your mate." he sneered.

"Cody?"
