I was walking down the alley, it was midnight and this was the fastest way to my apartment. I was going to be late, and the other girls would be extremely mad at me because it's my turn to make dinner, so I had to go the back way, even though I despise this route home. On my way I saw a man, I nearly jumped out of my skin at first, but shook it off quickly. I was about to call out to him when I saw he had a knife in his hand with some type of liquid dripping off it, blood. My body went cold and numb, and I couldn't move. Fuck! I'm going to die here! He was wearing black dress pants and a white hoodie drenched with blood, it was all up and down his hoodie. I was about to cry when I saw him turn around under the now flickering street light. To my surprise my body got even colder, and I couldn't bare the numbness much more, and I don't know how, but he could just... tell. His grin grew wider, which shouldn't even be possible, because he had a smile that was carved into his fucking face! From ear to ear, and he had these huge hypnotic, and dark eyes. Yet he had no eyelids, just black scar tissue was the only thing keeping his eyes in. His skin was pitch white, and it had this leathery look to it. The man had long black hair just past his shoulders. He was taunting this haunting and sadistic look on his face, before I knew it, before I had time to think, he was right next to me, I could feel his breath on the back of my neck, as he whispered into my ear, "you're next". I could hear my heart pounding in my ears it's last and final beats. Then I felt a sharp painful stab straight into my heart, I could feel my heart fading away. The last words I ever heard was him saying "go to sleep" before everything started fading to black, and than I was his last victim, or was there more to come?
Friday night, "Kat, did you see the news," my mom asked, "No what was so important on there," I replied, "Someone else was found dead that went missing last night, this time a girl around your age." she informed me. Another, I wonder who's killing these people, and why? Well, whatever it is I better steer clear of anyone suspicious. I looked up at my mom, right into her brown beautiful disabled eyes, with her fair skin, and shoulder length beautiful brown hair. I took a second to think of how to say this, and then began, "Do you think the killings will get any worse?" She thought about it for a second, then shortly after with a distressed look on her face she replied with, "I think that they won't get any worse.. but I don't know, and hopefully they find the killer soon," she said that last part with a tender smile, but I knew that she was still worried. Then a thought came into mind, I hope she knows. "Mom, by any chance did you catch what town it was," I questioned. At first she had a confused look on her face, then she came to realization to what I was referring, as her face formed into a look of horror, she replied, "Wyandotte... near your apartment with your friends." My expression went slack as I feared that one of my friends.. might be dead.
I have to call!! I rushed to call Alivia, hoping that she was not dead. She's been my friend since 4th grade, and we became bffs in the 7th, when we both had enough of this girl named Anna, when she became obsessed with this bitch Alexis, and started to ignore us. The phone rang to long for comfort, then I was finally greeted with a reliving, "Hey Kat," She sounded depressed, which made me even more so on edge. "Hi Alivia," My voice quivered, "is... is everythi-" Alivia cut me off knowing what I was concerned about, "Kelsey is dead Kat..." My heart stopped for a second. No. This isn't real. She can't be dead! Kelsey was innocent, she was so loving, extremely funny, and boy did she get scared easy... she, she can't be dead! Alivia sorely continued, "I'm sorry Kat... but," her voice started to crack, "She's dea-" This time I interjected, "NO! This can't be true! Not... not Kelsey, she.. she should be getting ready for work right about now, cr," my voice was trembling, "cracking jokes about how much her shoes hate her, so they always run off," I gave a light chuckle, but all that really came out was air. Hot tears covered my face, running down my neck, and absorbing into my my tank top. Alivia voice rang into my ears shaking, and quivering, "I, I know it's a lot to take in, but they found her body, she wasn't raped... but, she was mutilated. There was the words, 'Go to sleep' on the wall next to her body, written with her blood..." My stomach flipped, and I felt nauseous. Alivia continued, "She died from a stab wound to the heart." I couldn't bear it anymore, "I'm going to have to go Alivia." She replied, "I understand, be safe Kat," I returned the gesture, "Be safe Alivia." Then I hung up. This all feels like a dream. I can't bear this. Shes... dead.
