The wind howling as the rain slashes against the window panes Verita would be sat attempting to warm her always cold body by the fire. The heat doing nothing to ward off the unfamiliar chill running through her body this night a faint orange glow dances across her pale and ashen skin casting a shadow upon once delicate and porcelain features. The flames slowly dying down they diminish turning into light crimson in colour ember, resting her chin lightly upon her right hand she expels a soft breath through her nose closing her eyes momentarily.
The hustle and bustle of every day kingdom life coming to a standstill due to the grave illness consuming the once mighty king, laying on his death bed many servants rallied around him along with personal physicians and healers yet none could fathom why he was so sick, they had drained his blood to flush out all badness and given him new yet all had turned as black as ebony causing great worry and concern. Her left hand placed palm flat against the arm of the chair she begins to absent mindedly drum fingers lightly against the wood always attempting to focus yet failing miserably. Lifting both hands she drags them down across her face exhaling a long slow breath through now parted lips then looks towards the door as a light tapping can be heard. Moving from her chair she makes way over towards the doorway and using her left hand grips the handle firmly pulling it wide open, the site in front of her ... Verita knew what had happened or rather what was happening as the red and swollen eyed maid stood in front of her.
Verita pulls herself up straight and with lifted chin parts lips speaking softly yet confidently (Verita) *what news do you have for me Arabella?" The maid sniffling wipes her face free from tears then refocuses and becoming composed lifts her head ready to speak with the Princess. (Arabella) "The King Milady ... has requested that you go and see him this very minute. He doesn't have very long left and he fears the weight heavy on his chest of a secret long kept needs to be shed before he parts this world and moves on to the next." Verita lowers her head and nods towards the female then with sullen steps she makes way towards her fathers bed chamber somewhat confused as to what he could possible want to unload especially a something which he had felt the need to keep hidden for almost sixty years.
The atmosphere heavy she allows silvery blue hues to look about her the nearer she got to the Kings wing, women weeping, elders and council members shaking their heads they turn to look at her, the coldness in their eyes was something she had seen her whole life whilst within Calcherth so it was something she had grown accustomed too. Never knowing why they had looked upon her with such distain, with the secret whispers in hidden corners, fingers pointing always in her direction as assumptions were made. The head physician making way towards her he would stop abruptly in front of her stopping her movements. Expelling a slow and calmed breath through her nose, her hues cold and emotionless she awaits his words knowing he must have had a very good reason to stop her in such a dire time, parting lips she speaks with a solid and more confident tone than she had used upon the maid (Verita) "Fellatio I do hope you have news for me as to my father's condition." The elderly man fumbling and shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other Verita would grow impatient as she narrows her eyes waiting impatiently for his answer. (Fellatio) "No Princess, we have tried all methods known to man and none have seemed to work, I am afraid your father doesn't have much longer left within this world before he departs to the next." (Verita) "With all the treatments that have been tried, that have failed ... do you perhaps think you should have tried methods that were not of this world?" (Fellatio) "Milady that would be sacrilegious to the God Odin if we even dared to think about venturing into the dark magic's." (Verita) "My father has been suffering and ailing for years and you .... With your supposed knowledge of every balm, cream, salve, remedy or whatever treatment you saw fit to produce and use upon him ... I think you at least owed him something that was at least real. He ALWAYS played along with your little notions knowing full well they wouldn't work and you stand here and tell me ... that you have tried everything? I call you a liar and a cheat who was only in it to coat your own pocket with ill-gotten coins so move yourself from my sight ... from this castle and NEVER darken my path again." Tensions high the old man sighs softly and nods towards the princess knowing not to argue with her when she was in such a mind-set but to allow her to go and visit with the dying king and hopefully lay to rest any ill feelings which had been harboured for many a long and lonely year.
