I don't know how it all got out of control but it did, I hurt everyone unintentionally. But most importantly I hurt the person I hadn't wanted to the most, I hurt him. The smile I was able to put on his face faded into a frown after what I did. His sparkling eyes that would stare at me with love and lust were now clouded in a film of sadness, because of me. His soft hair that tickled my nose when we would sprawl out on the couch, now looked disheveled from the lack of sleep he experienced. His cold, soft hands that strummed guitar strings and cupped my face, were now shaking as he cried. His lips, soft and sweet and always tasted like cherry when he kissed me, trembled at the sight of me. I hurt him and I hadn't wanted to.

A Few Months Earlier
I climbed out of the passenger seat of my best friend's car, the dark violet paint was reflecting the sky, presenting the aspect of a new car, which in fact it wasn't but she had very strict rules when it came to her baby. The smell of pine escaping the forest crowding the house party distracted me from the reminder that we had school on Monday. Music boomed from the house, lightly shaking the ground, people were scattered around the lawn and front porch, I didn't even want to think about how many people were inside, my social awkwardness already making me gnaw at my cheek.
"You ready?" Alex tugged my arm.
I smiled eagerly, "let's make this party our bitch."I lazily threw my arm around her shoulder as both of us casually walked towards the house.
Peoples gazes followed us in awe as we walked on the lawn, it was covered in empty cups, random trash, and a few cigarettes. As we entered the house, my eyes almost popped out of my head, there were more than a hundred people stuffed into the small mansion. Different shirts molded into a scattering rainbow, and people's faces were unrecognizable from all of the commotion. Alex and I pushed our way through the stuffy crowd as we made our way to the kitchen.
The kitchen seemed to be just as bad as the rest of the house maybe even worse, the counters were covered in unknown liquids and beer cans. Grabbing one of the cases, Alex pried out the last two beers , handing one to me.
She attempted to yell over the growling music, "I need to find a bathroom, are you okay right here?" I nodded my head in reply, she pecked my cheek, "try not to meet a hottie without me?"
I threw my head back laughing, "Never." She smiled disappearing into the endless growing crowd. Now alone, I attempted to make myself as non approachable as possible by leaning against the wall and scrolling through my phone, timidly drinking my beer.
"Hey," a voice like honey sang a simple word right next to my ear and i was already putty in this strangers hands. My eyes wandered up from my phone to see a tall figure filling up their empty cup.
"Hi?" I awkwardly replied not understanding how people didn't get the message I didn't want to talk.
He chuckled, cute but nothing like...someone else, "I can see you don't want to talk to anyone."
"Then why are we still talking?" I sassed back.
A laugh made it's way up his throat, "funny and cute, why haven't I met you yet?"
"Well it's probably because you can't come up with better pick-up lines."
He faked a hurt expression holding a hand to his heart, "ouch, now that you've hurt my ego and turned me down, do I at least deserve a name?"
