I have never known what it means to ache.

That was, until right now.

I don't know where I am.

The last thing I remember is walking in the woods. It was warm and sunny, and I was walking to the waterfall to jump into it's cool waters.

I remember thinking that although it was far up the mountain and somewhat off the trail, that it would be worth it.

But that was the last thing I could remember.

Now, I can only think of the aching feeling that is in every part of my body.

No, I must understand why my body aches.

Can I feel my legs and feet? Yes- so I'm not paralyzed.

Can I feel my fingertips? Yes- so I still have both arms and hands.

Can I still see? I have to open my eyes. Okay, deep breath. And open.

OPEN.

Why isn't it working?

It is now that I notice that I don't hear anything.

Now I am panicking. Am I deaf, or is there just no sound? Am I blind or is it just completely dark?

I know I can feel my body is here, solidly in existence.

The question that my consciousness keeps repeating to me is: am I dead or alive?

And if im alive, why can't I remember my name?
