Christine's POV

" Wait do you mean she passed away last night," I cry, my heart breaking. " She didn't tell you," Mr. Willams asks. " Tell me what," I ask, completely confused. " Madame Giry was very ill, she knew she had only a few weeks to live," he says.

" That can't be true, just a few weeks ago she was playing with my girls, you can't be telling me that she never told me that she was dying," I say, almost yelling at him. " She came to me a few weeks ago about her will, I had just assumed that she had told you," he says.

" What will, she never informed me," I ask looking at Erik whose face showed no expression. " Madame Giry included you in her will," he says.

" Oh," I say, " what did she leave us," I ask. Mr. Williams pulled out a piece of paper and began to read.

" To Christine Destler, I leave to her my ballet job at the Opera Populaire, for I know she'll do well teaching. I also leave to her my cane, so she can remember me. And finally I leave her a select portion of my money," he tells me.

He the turns and looks at Erik, " To Erik, I leave my collection of old Opera's, and I hope he will make use of them as he now owns the opera. And finally I leave to him, another portion of my money," he says.

Erik nods and Mr. Williams gets up, " I am sorry to have troubled you with this news, but I do have to get going," he says. " I'll show you out," I say and lead him out.

I shut the door and collapse onto the ground. " Christine," Erik says and runs up to me and holds me in his arms. " She can't be gone, she can't," I cry as I sob into his chest. " It'll be alright Christine," he says, but I shake my head.

" I lost to many people I love, I lost my father, I lost Meg, and now Madame Giry," I cry. " Let's get you to bed," Erik says as he picks me up and carries me up to  our room. He lays me down on our bed and gently kisses my forehead.

" Sleep my Christine," he says.

A Week Later

" Angel wake up," Erik's voice says, calling me from my deep sleep. I open my eyes to see him standing there with roses in his hand. I smile, " What are these for," I ask him. He hands them to me and I smell them.

" Well a certain prima donna has a performance today," he says and kisses the top of my head. My smile falters and I look down. His hands cup my face as he tilts my head to face him. " Angel, what is it," he asks me.

" What if they hate me, what if my voice fails," I blurt out. " Believe me, I have trained you well enough, nothing will happen," he says and smirks. I nod and get up, " Let's head to the theatre," I say, as I changed into a dress.

We head down the stairs and I grab a jacket as we exit the house. The was a carriage waiting for us outside and he opens the door and helps me in.

The ride goes by slowly and my hands start to shake as the theatre appears. " I don't know if I can do this Erik, I'm scared," I say, my voice shaking. " You will and you can," he says.

The carriage stops and we get out. I see a line forming outside the box office. The second I step onto the ground everyone turns around and smiles and runs towards me.

A little girl runs up to me and holds out a piece of paper. " Can you sign this please," she asks sweetly. " Of course, what's your name," I ask her. " My name is Emily," she says and I smile and sign it. " Thank you," she says and runs towards me.
