After transfiguration, Rosslynn headed to Herbology, inside to lunch, and out to flying with the Hufflepuffs to finish her Thursday. At dinnertime she decided to sit with Harry and Ron so Hermione could study while she ate dinner.

As Rosslynn took her seat, she found that her flying lesson wasn’t as interesting as Ron and Harry’s. “What do you mean you’re on the Quidditch team?” Rosslynn whispered.

“You’re joking!” Ron said flabbergasted. “Seeker, but first years never—you must be the youngest house player in about—”

“—a century,” Harry said with his mouth full of shepherd’s pie, “Wood told me.”

“Wow, I was thinking of trying out for the Ravenclaw team, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it. I’ve only played with Ron and his family before and never played the position that I want.” Rosslynn said.

“What position do you want to play?” Ron asked, “I’m sure that if you don’t get on the team this year you can practice over the summer with us.”

“Chaser, I love the Chaser position, I really like how they are probably the most involved players.” Rosslynn had given this a lot of thought. She knew what to do in the Chaser position, the only fallback was her experience in the position.

“Well if you do get on the team,” Harry started his mouth empty once more, “Could you promise not to tell the Ravenclaw team, Wood wants to keep it a secret? He said that we would start training next week.”

“I probably won’t make it anyways, so, sure!” Rosslynn agreed as she started eating dessert. As she was finishing her dessert, she was not surprised to see that Fred and George were coming to congratulate Harry.

“Well done,” George said in a low voice, “Wood told us. We’re on the team too—Beaters.”

“I tell you, we’re going to win that Quidditch cup for sure this year,” said Fred. “We haven’t won since Charlie left, but this year’s team is going to be brilliant. You must be good, Harry, Wood was almost skipping when he told us.”

“Anyway, we got to go; Lee Jordan reckons he’s found a new secret passageway out of the castle.” George explained. “Oh and Ross,”

“Mum sent us a letter for you, Errol wasn’t up for the job and Hermes had to deliver it.” Fred finished perfectly in sync with his twin.

“Percy gave it to us. It was in his package of quills and parchment that he couldn’t fit into his trunk.” George said.

“Oh, thanks,” Rosslynn said as Fred handed her the letter, “And, I have a question, do you think that I’m good enough to try out for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team?” Rosslynn said as she started opening her letter. “We were just talking about it and I thought that since you have seen me play and you are on the Gryffindor team, you might know whether or not I have a chance.”

“Well,” Fred started examining her, “We know you’re not the type for a Beater,”

“And you don’t have the reflexes a Keeper needs,” George chimed in.

“You’re a fair Seeker but then you would be up against Harry,” Fred finished. “If you want to try for Chaser you have a real good chance!”

“Thanks,” Ross said blushing slightly, she always found the twins charming.

“Hey, Fred, George, where have you been, I found one come on!” called a dark boy with long hair. “Are you coming or not?”
