P.O.V
"Mommy, help me, help me," Emma screamed, shuffling her feet around the corner. She jumped into my arms right as Asher rounded the corner.
"Daddy's trying to get me."
"She ate the last cupcake," he playfully frowns making his way towards us with his signature smirk.
"Stop acting like a bunch of 5-year-olds," I laugh as Asher winks at me.
"But I am five," Emma smiled up at me with her bright blue eyes and dimples.
"Exactly, I'm older so I win," Asher grins while tickling her.
"Mom- please- help- me-" Emma giggles.
"Sorry, I'm extremely ticklish so I'm going to surrender this one," I say handing her to Asher.
"Mommy's a traitor...Stop tickling me, Ash-wipe," Emma screams. Asher's smile drops and looks at me, my hands fly up in surrender, and his eyes narrow.
"I didn't say anything I promise," I laugh.
"Go upstairs and get ready Em, people are going to be here soon," Asher nudges her upstairs. When she disappears down the hall, I sigh and am fully aware of where I am. I am in my three-story blue house, thanks to Asher's painting skills, with the most loving husband and daughter in the world. I don't know what I did to deserve this future but I can't believe how far me and Asher have gotten in life.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Asher asks, breaking me out of my thoughts. He snakes his arm around my waist and I reposition myself so my head is resting on his muscular chest.
"Just thinking about everything."
"That was very vague."
"I love you."
"There it is." He smiles down at me. "You are my everything, and Emma of course," he adds. I'm pretty sure my mouth is stuck in a smile because I have been goofily grinning for a while now. The doorbell rings and I hop up to get it. Asher smacks my ass and I glare at him.
"Sorry birdie, couldn't help myself," he smirks and goes off to get Em. When I reach the door, Ever greets me with a huge hug.
"Wrennie, I haven't seen you in forever," Ever squeals and her blond hair bounces everywhere.
"I know, you are so grown up!"
"Now now ladies, when you are finished bursting my ear drums, I have a few sacks that can't carry themselves in," Victoria pops up and kisses my cheek.
"Thank you for everything Victoria, you really didn't have to buy all this food."
"Nonsense, I sure did." I smile at her gratitude and carry the sacks to the kitchen. We start unloading the food in the cream colored kitchen as Ever goes on and on about her new car.
"I am just so happy, 1 more year and I will be able to drive all by myself! I already have my car parked in our garage. It's a silver Jeep that is-"
"Ever, why don't you go upstairs and play with Emma," Victoria says and Ever nods and runs up the stairs.
"She just can't stop talking about herself," Victoria laughs.
"Huh, reminds me of someone else I know," I wink at her. I hear the door open and Dr. Williams and my mom walk in the door. I am engulfed in a warm hug from my mother and she goes off to greet victoria.
After all the food is set out, more people keep arriving. Brody and my former college roommate, Darcy arrive a little later. She looks very flustered and both their hair is all messed up, I hope they are okay, but I don't ask because they seem really happy. Zach and Mia arrive soon after the meat is grilled, and Zach goes straight to the burgers.
