The Last Arrow

Chapter 5

Katniss POV:

"That's it that's all I've got" I tell everyone after a while they were all just staring at me as if they were waiting a for me to continue with the plan

"Good job sweetheart" Haymitch says after a while "So how do we decide the one who will go crazy with the need to kill people?" he says addressing everyone now

"I'll do it" say Peeta quietly "They already know I was hijacked it makes sense for me to do it"

I nod my head "Don't do anything to get yourself killed though" I say walking over to him "I couldn't live without you" and then I press lips against his a few minuets later he pulls back from me breathing heavily

"I'll start now" he says with a nod and makes his way over to the door he lets out a long sigh then slams himself against the door "Let Me Out!" he yells throwing himself at the door again "I'll Do It!" he screams and begins to punch the door I look around the room and nod at everyone else

"Cower in the corner we need to make it look like he's lost control" I exclaim rushing towards them shoving them into the wall "Haymitch do you know what happened to my mum?" I whispered once we were squashed into the corner he just shakes his head at me and I let out a shaky breath just as the rooms doors open Peeta flings himself at guards who let out a gasp I forgot that the wouldn't have heard Peeta through the door

"I'll do it!" Peeta yells into one of the guards faces clutching onto his collar "I'll fight just get me out of here!" he rants and turns and points at us "If you don't let me out I'll end up killing them Let Me Out!" he continues to scream the men nod at one another and put cuffs around Peetas wrists as they walk him out the room he turns his head and winks at us then the door is closed and Peeta is gone.

"What now?" Johanna asks

"Part two" Haymitch replies as if it was obvious

Peeta's POV:

I get led down the hallway as the two other men close the doors of the room I was just in concealing the others inside, I struggle against the handcuffs trying to make it look like I really had lost it "Clam down you're out" hisses one of the men pulling me down the corridor

"In here" another says and I'm pulled into the familiar office before anyone else speaks I blurt out

"Gale I'll do it I'll train your army" he smiles at me and I feel pride welling up in my chest if only he knew

"I knew you would Peeta" He replies and motions for the guards to get the cuffs of me "You start tomorrow Solider Mellark, but for now Calvin here will take you to your room and will et you any meal you wish, oh and get a good sleep it will be a long day of work tomorrow"

Calvin grips my arm and pushes my towards the door "Wait!" I exclaim "Can I see Fluer and Logan before I go to my room?" I ask my heart rate begging to rise.

"Of course Calvin take him to see his children" Gale agrees and i nod my head thankful he said yes.

I get pushed along the hall and into a room, I look around and see Fluer and Logan backed up against the wall clutching each other I run towards them "Petal, Logan-berry" I say

"Daddy!" they shout and run over into my arms I turn my head to Calvin and say

"Will you give me a few minuets alone with them?" he nods once and walks out the room "Listen closely mummy and some of our friends and locked in a room, they want us to make a army of people to bring back the games that we told you about, we made and plan and I agreed to train people" I whisper into thier ears so cameras will only see my hugging them they won't know I'm telling them their bit of the plan "I'm not going to teach them right, but I what I want you to do is show the guards you can fight"

"But daddy we can't" Fluer whispers back

"shh you can Logan you are really fast that makes you important to fight you need to show them that and Fluer you are like mummy you can use a bow show them they will let you out start getting you to train for the army as well now if I teach you it's okay, but if you don't get my don't do anything the solider says okay" I whisper and feel them nod against my chest "You need to do this for me it's a big part of the plan..." that's all I mangage to say before Calvin walks back into the room "I love you" I say out loud

"You leave now" Calvin says and grabs hold of me and pulls out of the room.

Katniss POV:

Peeta left and we just sat bored and waiting for the next bit of the plan come into action when a hologram pops up onto the wall "here we go again" I say scared about what I was going to see this time, but this time the picture is different I smile Peeta got in I see them hugging each other and then notice the kids heads nodding "They know the plan" is all I can say and a man walks over to them and pulls Peeta up saying something Peeta says something else then is pulled out the room.

"Katniss don't you wish that was you it could be if you agree until you do though we will do this" Gale says I don't know where from, but I watch him play the scene again, but this time as soon as Peeta is taken from the room the door is open two men walk in and push them to the ground and before they can't fight back the start to punch them in the face. A strangled scream escapes from my mouth and the others jump startled.

"Katniss Peeta needs to get training so you can get out the won't surive the beatings" Haymitch excalims I nod

"They can fight they just need the chance to show them" I say back watching the horror on the screen

"Next time the guards come in you tell them to stop attacking the kids, tell them you will do it" Johanna says

I shake my head " Not until tomorrow" is all I can say as the tears fall down my face "I need to do it tomorrow"

---The Next Day---

I see her blonde hair in a plait down her back, I watch as she yanks off her coat and covers another child, she has that duck tail again I remember the reaping well when I see her again it was like watching her name get pulled out of the bowl, my body goes limp and I try to move away from the flag pole my my legs don't allow it. I finally break free and push through the crowd "Prim! Prim! Get Out!" I yell over the loud noises of the people I'm nearly at the cage "Prim!" I yell again she turns I'm sure she hears me because she turns round I see her trying to scream my name that's when the parachutes go off...

I wake up in a pool of sweat breathing heavily I frantically search the room for Peeta "Katniss your okay it was just a dream your find" I hear Haymitch say

"Peeta? where is he?" I ask becoming scared

"Remember he volunteered yesterday and you are today" Haymitch replies

"Oh yeah" I say as the memories of the day before flash back into my mind "I'll do it now" I stand up walk over to the door I throw my body against it and yell

After about five minutes of screaming slamming myself into the door I give "Katniss do you often have nightmares?" Johanna asks as I sit down next to her

"No, but I normally sleep curled into Peeta he makes me feel safe I need to sleep in his arms" I tell her quietly she nods and we sit in silence for a while and then the doors swing open I rush to my feet and run over to them I grab hold of their arms "I need out of here" I hiss "I'll train the army just Let Me Out" a panicked look settled across the mans face

"Okay we'll take you to see Gale come on" the other says and the pulls me out the room.

Hey it's me again I hope you liked this chapter I really liked wrting this one most of the ideas came to me when I was sleeping so it was easy for me to write.
