To my friends that know me in real life: I'm not sorry for writing this beautiful work of art.
⚠️ WARNING: GRUESOME AND GORY BUT KINDA FUNNY TBH

Once-ler POV

All was beautiful in Thneedville. Birds were chirping like usual, small creatures of the forest scurried along small riverbanks. The fluffy green grass was soothing as ever as I rubbed my feet into it. A fellow friend sat next to me, staring at the sunset.
The day had been tough; it was normal to me, yet, still difficult. I'd been traveling across the landscape attempting to find some 'trees,' when suddenly a small, orange man confronted me personally. Here is what had happened.

"I am the Lorax, and I speak for the trees. I ask of you that you travel no further, young man, that you turn back. You will not find any 'trees.'"
I stand on a tall hill, staring him down. He was grumpy and short, wore quite a frown. I shook my head, crossed my arms, as I said sternly:
   "I mean no harm."
The orange man furred his eyebrows and breathed a heavy sigh.
"I know who you are; there's been rumors 'bout this guy. His name is the Once-ler, here to chop my trees. I refuse to let him, so please leave."
I set down my bag, poured out the items inside. I put on my gloves and met him eye to eye.
"I'm not leaving, for I come on a quest-- to prove to my loved ones I am not a pest. So, if I may, take a few trees, I'll leave kindly, won't you please?"
I recite these words kindly, hoping he'll oblige. He growls and whistles, I close my eyes.
Suddenly, ferocious small creatures gather around. None of them but one made any sound. It was the Lorax himself who dared break the peace. He cracked his knuckles as he began to speak.
"Leave now or suffer, you mangy Once-ler. I ask that you don't make me--"
I slam my boot into his chest before he could finish his rhyme because I'm sick of it getting all Shakespeare up in here. There's no time for any more rhymes. The Lorax slams against my carriage.
I speed towards him without a care and throw in another kick. He groans in pain and stumbles up. The other bear-like creatures run away back to their families.
"A-as long as I live, you're not getting my trees. They're all mine to keep."
I narrow my eyes and throw in a chuckle.
"Please." I smile menacingly and grab his arm. I swing him upwards and bash him onto the ground. His face is being disassembled by the second, covered in blood and grass.
   "Once-ler, I'm g-going to beat your a--"
I cover his mouth with my slim finger.
"Shhhh. There are young children reading this fan fiction. Don't curse." I glance at you, the reader, and wink.
"Stop breaking the fourth wall..." He whimpers. "It's scaring Pipsqueak..."
A small bear remains trembling behind a tree. He whimpers with fear as I flash him a smile.
"Oh? You want some too?" I grasp my axe which had been lying on the ground and stumbled towards him without a sound. He gasps in fear and attempts to run.
"But don't you want to have some fun?" I grin. He crashes into a tree in a desperate attempt to flee. I pick him up by the neck and chuckle quietly. I shove him against the tree.
   "Isn't this fun, Pipsqueak?"
He screams and hollers as I glance at my axe. I smile and raise it, thrust it at full blast.
"What a mess; my new gloves are bloody. Oh well, on to you, buddy~!" I cheerfully drop the remains of Pipsqueak and stroll onto the Lorax. His eyes are wide with fear and he stares at my axe.
"O-okay! You can have the trees! Please don't hurt me!" He shrieks with mercy. I wink and get close to his bloody face.
"But I thought you liked this! This isn't what you wanted, orange man?"
His eyes as wide as saucers shook with fear, as he'd just witnessed Pipsqueaks' slaughter.
I smile and laugh loudly as I can.
"Oh, Lorax-chan~" I squeal happily. "I thought we were having fun!"
I grasp his limp arms and swing him around in circles. He throws up and moans with pain.
I raise him high once again and slam him down.
   "Party's over."
My foot smashes into his lifeless body. I sigh and shake my head, plopping down next to the small bears' remains.
"That was so fun. Too bad it ended so quickly, huh, Pipsqueak?"
I positioned my hands to where they were in his mouth.
"Yeah, Once-ler! We had so much fun!" I impersonate him in a high pitched wail.
I pick up his head followed by his organs and body. I stuff them into the potato sack I brought and found myself smiling. I find myself nearing the Lorax.
I pry him off the now purple grass, as it was bloodstained. The Lorax wouldn't like to see his precious grass purple, but there's no worry about that anymore now, is there? I squish him into the bag as well and tie it shut.
I toss the bag into the back of my carriage and set off, removing my gloves and throwing them behind me.
   -•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-

What a beautiful day to be alive, I think. I stare wisely into the sunset as I wrap my sore arm around the Lorax's body.
"Isn't this beautiful, orange man? It's a shame you won't be able to see it with your eyes hanging out, huh?" I carefully shove them into place as they bug out into the distance.
    The sun. It's so beautiful.
