Dail knew with what she was messing. She knew that doing what she was doing was most likely to get her killed— if they found out.
She was walking through the dark and shadowed corridors of the Unseelie Court.
She walked to the place where they held her faerie steed, and jump to ride it, to leave as fast as she could. She was already risking much by walking here, much more if she stayed.
She said the words to her steed, to make it move, and in matter of second she was flying away from the palace of the Unseelie King. She was going to a place only two fairies knew about. At least that was before the Hunt, now she suspects the number increased.
It was rare the day in which she could be free and go away from her life, where she could dream without anyone stopping her.
When she arrives to the mundane ruins, he is already there; as graceful and arrogant as always, his blue hair fell into his face shadowing his silver eye, the mark of the Hunt.
He was looking towards the ruins, something flashed in his face as he lowered his head, deep in thought.
Dail ordered her steed to go down and stay next to Windspear.
"As late as always, my sister" he said turning away from the ruins. His different eyes seemed to shine in the moonlight, which also made his blue hair look darker and created a halo over his head.
"Kieran of the Hunt," Dail said moving toward her brother. "How could I not? Is a tradition, and, as far as I recall, keeping traditions was always your desire"
Kieran hugs his sister as his life depended on it, Dail hugs him back.
"I missed you, Dail, my sister" said Kieran, breaking apart and looking at his sister's eyes. Up closed, Dail could see how much every day without his Shadowhunter was causing her brother pain, making him look sadder, but that was a detail that only someone who knew him well will notice.
"Listen, brother," she said. "Time is limited. You need to remember that this meeting is being done without the King's knowledge." Kieran nods. "The Court knows. He knows the help you gave to the Nephilim. They know about Iarlath's knife threat made by you." Kieran flinched, knowing that what was coming wasn't good. "The King allowed the Hunt to do with you as they will, knowing that Gwyn the Hunter would never try to hurt a Prince of the Unseelie Court, but he knows not about the rest. Brother, the King gave permission to the Hunt to hurt you. You're not longer under his protection."
Kieran's eyes and expression hardened.
"Am I accused of treason?"
"I fear yes. That's your punishment."
"You think I betrayed you? Our family?" Kieran said, his voice a small whisper.
"The Court has never been my family," Dail replied, her voice steady. "Except for you. Kindness was not given to be until you came. You were all that made me value the side to which I was forced to be part of."
"So you don't think I betrayed you?"
"No," Dail said, earnestly, for fairies could not lie, but Lady Dail of the Unseelie Court wasn't one. "You didn't betrayed me. You helped my kind. You help the Nephilim."
Kieran nodded before smiling at Dail, a honest smile, without Kieran's usual arrogance. "You should better go, time is limited as you said."
Dail nodded before hugging his brother. "If you need something, anything, you know how to call" She smiles at her brother before touching his cheek. "Take care of yourself, Kieran"
They break apart so Dail can call her steed, which comes fastly at the call of it's master.
Dail made a reverence, as the one used on the Court. "Stay well, Kieran of the Hunt, for my need to go back, won't break our bond. Which is stronger than any that could ever exist among siblings."
"My wishes, Lady Dail from the Unseelie Court" Kieran said bowing his head. "Or, does my lady prefers being called, Dhalia Lovelace of the Quebec Institute?"
Dail smiles at her brother. "The second one might be."
"Part well, Dhalia Lovelace of the Quebec Institute"
Dail's steed raises in incredible speed. She tell her where she need to go: The Unseelie Court, her prison.
She looks back at her half-brother, now just a shadow.
She hugs the horse's neck while she murmurs something that would get her killed by her father if it is heard.
"I am Dhalia Lovelace, from the Quebec Institute; I am a Shadowhunter.I am Dhalia Lovelace, from the Quebec Institute; I am a Shadowhunter." And as she rides toward her prison, she starts speaking louder, until it is a shout.
"I am Dhalia Lovelace, from the Quebec Institute; I am a Shadowhunter. I am a Shadowhunter"
