Chapter 1:
Annie's PoV:
All of our family is sitting around Caleb's hospital bed just looking down. Caleb got rushed to hospital when he had struggle breathing then he collapsed. He is now unconscious and we are waiting for him to wake up. It's torture, I just want to shout at him to wake up. Everyone has been crying as we all have red eyes and me and mum have mascara stains running down our faces. I couldn't care less about what I look like though, all I want is to hear Caleb speak, for him to be awake and talking to me.

Suddenly the curtain to the cubicle opens up and Katie and all her family come in. Katie runs to me and hugs me whilst crying which then makes me start crying again. Mrs Jill goes and hugs mum, mr Mike hugs dad and Ryan goes to comfort Hayley who is also really upset like me. Once Katie pulls away, I see Brennan standing by Caleb looking at him. Caleb was Brennan's best friend and they were really close like me and Katie. I walk over to Caleb and Brennan. Brennan sees me and looks up, his eyes watering. He looks into my sad eyes as I stand next to him then we both hug each other tightly.
We pull away and faintly smile at each other. I then look back down at Caleb. He looks so lifeless, his lips are pale and his eyes are shut. My eyes start watering again. Katie comes over to me and grabs my hand, she squeezes it tightly in support.

An hour passes. My eyes are sore from staring at Caleb's bed. Just wake up Caleb, please, I can't loose you, I love you so much, you are my baked potato, you are the best brother I have ever had and I wouldn't change you for the world, just please wake up.. Suddenly the doctor comes in which makes everyone look. She says "ok, we have a diagnosis, Caleb has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, this is where the wall I the heart expands causing blow flow to be reduced. 99% of people survive this but we won't know about Caleb until he wakes up." She smiles then leaves the room. A 99% chance, that's quite high, right. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy has been passed down in our family and Caleb had to be the one who got it. I sat there thinking about all the memories me and Caleb had my eyes started watering again and a single tear ran down my face. I wiped it away, trying to stay strong and got out my phone. I searched what hypertrophic cardiomyopathy was and went on loads of websites, finding out lots of details.

About half an hour later, I switch off my phone. The mums and dads are talking, Katie is sitting with Hayley and I'm next to them, Brennan and Ryan are sitting with each other on Brennan's phone. Out of no where, Caleb's machine started beeping. I panicked then ran out and shouted "help, I need a doctor, now, help." A group of doctors ran in and crowded round Caleb. I stood next to Katie and Hayley as we all held hands crying, what was wrong with him?
The doctors all crowded round the machines that were surrounding Caleb's bed. Then one of them says "shocking, clear." The other doctors reply clear then they push a button on a machine and Caleb's body jumps up. Was this hurting him, could he feel it's? Nothing happened so they did it again. It really pained me to see Caleb's body all lifeless being shocked and jumped. Once again it didn't work, every time I cried more and more. Please Caleb, just wake up.
After another 5 times trying they all look at each other with sorrow. Come on Caleb, just open your eyes, move, show some sign that you are still with us, please. By now I was pouring my eyes out, just like everyone else. One of the doctors nodded at the others then looked at her watch. No, if she is about to do what I think she is going to do. She says "patient, Caleb Leblanc, time of death 7:08 am." No!

Sorry that the first chapter is short but I wanted to end on a cliffhanger, they will get longer xx
