Have you ever felt like you do not belong anywhere? That you're out of place? Eleanor Vogel, a young girl living in a small village with her aunt Marianne has always felt that way, she knew she could do things that no other kid in town could do, strange things, but very powerful things. She did not like it though, because she wasn't the only one who knew she could do such things. As she had zero to no control over her condition, everyone in the village knew she was different, but as you all know, humans don't always react positively towards "different" so she had been treated badly, physically and emotionally, by almost everyone in the village, including her aunt. She started to learn how to control it but it was not easy at all, as she held the bloodlines of two of the most acclaimed wizards in the world, you could not expect her to have an average kind of power. However, she was not aware of it, because every little detail of who she truly was had been hidden from her.

The morning of her 11th birthday, she decided she wanted to go for a walk to pick flowers for her room, when a gang of kids a little bit older than she was, spotted her.

"Where are you going monster?" said the one with the wavy blonde hair making all the other kids look at her with evil little smirks.

She did not answer; instead, she started walking faster and faster until she was fully aware that they were chasing her. She was scared. She did not know what they wanted to do to her, but she knew it was not going to be pretty.

"You can't run forever you know? We are going to catch you and when we do we will teach you a lesson you witch!"

She ran towards an old abandoned barn, opened the door and hide. She was trying to keep quite as she felt tears stream down her cheeks. She stayed there until nothing but the trees dancing along with the wind could be heard. This very moment she would never forget, it was the first time she had encountered pure evil, the moment that would change her life forever.

A smell started to fill her nostrils; something was burning. Eleanor got out from where she was and ran towards the entrance of the barn but she couldn't open it, she desperately tried to find another way out as the bright orange and yellow flames became visible to her inside, she heard them laughing outside.

"Don't try to escape, there is no way out, you will burn freak!" said the blonde-haired kid.

"I think that's enough, she's already scared, we need to get her out of there before something bad happens!" said another boy starting to get worried as he heard Eleanor plead for her life.

"Come on Dom, we are only joking don't get upset"

"This has gone too far Charles; she thinks we are actually trying to kill her!" Charles becoming angrier by the second.

"Well then you go and help her you coward! Go save your little witch girlfriend!"

"She's not my girlfriend, but she could die in there you know! We need to help her! Come on mates!" Dom said to the other boys around them but they all looked to their apparent leader. No one moved a muscle.

"I cannot believe this, you follow him around like he's some kind of king, he has never done anything for you or me, I don't want to be your friend anymore, you are the incarnation of pure evil, it's like you are the spawn of Satan and I will not be part of this anymore!" He turned around and ran towards the barn to help Eleanor, but instead he felt a sharp pain in his head and started to feel dizzy. He tried to recover a little bit before he turned to him and punched him right in the face, sending him straight to the ground. Charles got up. However, as he tried to send a punch towards Dom, a massive crack stopped them and made them look to the barn; they did not notice that while they were arguing, the barn had almost completely caught fire. The anger on their faces by the previous dispute had change to one of pure terror as they saw what they had done, but there was something scarier than the image of an old barn burning. Silence.

The air around her became heavy, as she desperately tried to breathe, she could see the flames beginning to rise above her as she was trying to get out while pleading for mercy. Eleanor could hear the boys fighting, she even tried calling the names she had previously heard, but they were too caught up in their fight that it seemed as though they had already forgotten about her. She gave up. Eleanor stopped screaming and pleading.

Despair became something else, something even more powerful; she could feel it running through her blood, she was done. Done with everything and everyone, she hated this village and the people living in it, she was tired of the way her aunt treated her as well as everyone else. She was angry, completely and utterly angry.
