Mononoke

It isn't like I have no feelings don't get me wrong. I do, I'm just not like other people. I don't get mushy gushy over stupid things like boys or clothes like most girls. My parents died and I'm over it, but I'm alone and I'm fine.

I'm also different because I have a high IQ which makes me immune to most human feelings. I guess by now you have realized that I'm not human. In fact, I'm not even close. Except for the fact that I do, sometimes, have human emotions.

I know what your thinking. "If she isn't human, than what the hell is she?" Well to that I say. "You don't wanna know" but if I have to say I'm mostly demon. By mostly I mean I  have demon blood, but I'm a Mononoke.

For those of you who have no clue what that is, I will tell you. A Mononoke is part human part animal. They live among you as regular people. It could be your boyfriend or your girlfriend or even your neighbor.

Mononoke are all different and some are more powerful than others. I am the most powerful Mononoke known to be in existence. I'm the princess. I know, shouldn't my parents be more powerful than me? They're not, never have been either. Since they're gone they never will be. My name is Lillian, but everyone calls me Lil.

I used to train all day long. Then my friends decided I spent to much time training and told me to go to a human school. Well I told you I had a high IQ which means that I was bored to tears.

Human school isn't exactly what I would call a picnic either. The girls are mean the guys are pervs. Except for the few good people there, it sucked.

I was surprised to find that their were, in fact, mononoke kids there. The problem is that they were all boys. They all were sporting their human girlfriends who were very pretty, surprisingly. No offense to the human race.

I was instantly excepted by the populars because I was so "gorgeous" in their words. Well I am not the kind to take such compliments, but I couldn't deny it by the way every guy in that school stared when I came into classes on my first day.

I love attention from boys, but usually only mononoke boys. If a Mononoke girl has a child with a human her probability of living through it, is slim. As the only heir to the throne, I can't risk it.

I smile my most dazzling smile as the teacher announces who I am saying that I'm a new student. I was sat next to Jake, who is mononoke and one of the only ones without a girlfriend.

He was smiling his most dazzling smile, which has no effect on me, but I heard a lot of the girls in the room sighing. I giggled which sounds more like a tinkle. Because of the demonic blood that runs through my veins, it is supposed to make me so pretty and perfect that I'm irresistible.

It is funny really. I know that I can get who ever I want whenever I want. It is also sad because I know that most of them only like me for my looks. Well I don't care really. What you need to know is I'm a wild child. I train all day and party all night. Sleep is in intervals between the two.

Jake is a player, but he is also one of my favorite people to hang out with. He is part fox and his Mononoke form is adorable as well as his human form. He takes girls hearts every day and puts them back before sun up the next day.

He is sweet on me, but I never give him the chance to try to steal my heart, because I know him. Tyler is my best friend, but his father is high up on the Mononoke hierarchy so he is technically supposed to be my betrothed, but my mom said I could cancel it if I found that I loved someone else.

I breezed through the first half of the day and it was time for lunch. I didn't want to eat school food but didn't bring my car so got in line anyway. I felt someone come up and hug me from behind and tensed ready to sock them in the face if I had to.

I turned my head to see Jack grinning down at me and Tyler rolling his eyes saying that it was inappropriate at school. He refused to let go so I stepped on his foot. He let go, with a grimace, and I walked over to Tyler.

"What's up guys?" I asked. Tyler smiled and asked if I wanted to get some real food. I accepted instantaneously. Then my stomach growled and we all laughed. "I'm gonna take that as an agreement from your stomach too" said Tyler.

He put his arm around my shoulders and glared at Jack as if to tell him to back off. I lagged at that, but Jack didn't seem amused and glared right back at him. I got kinda worried but then they both laughed and I realized they were just messing around.

I hugged Tyler so I could take his keys from his pocket and ran to his car. I got in the passenger seat and watched the boys laughing and talking. I could have listened if I wanted to, but I don't want to know what they talk about in private. So I waited and they paused for a second talking. Then Tyler shook his head laughing and started walking again.

"Come on you didn't answers my question" I heard Jack say.

"I'm not going to either" Tyler said. They both got in the car and asked where I wanted to go. I told them I didn't care and I was just there for the ride. They laughed and went to a Chinese buffet. We went in and we all got tea then headed to the buffet.

We all loaded our plates and sat down. I was on the inside next to Tyler and a wall, and Jack was on the other side of the booth. While we ate, Jack asked if I wanted to come to a party tonight. "I would, but I have homework" I said reluctantly. Tyler raised his eyebrows in surprise at my refusal.

"Im proud of you" he said, "that must have killed you." I sighed and just kept eating.

"Can I come over to your house to do homework?" I asked Tyler.

"Yeah but it would be quieter at the castle." He said referring to his hectic family.

"Yeah, but I like chaos more than quiet," I said smiling. He smiled back and agreed.
