"No" I said while laughing
"Why not" Weston said laughing back
"Because I don't want to" I say
"you're a rat" he says back
"but everyone knows you're the rat" I say defending myself
"COM'ON PLEASE" he yells
I'm shocked at first then shake my head in response. He gets up and turns off the camera and runs upstairs. I pull out my phone and attempt to take a decent photo to post on my social media. I got big on Twitter, as apparently I had "quirky- relatable tweets". My best friend, Weston, was very big on Instagram, Younow, Youtube. All that. We met in 3rd grade when he first moved into the house next to mine. He's funny, that's what I like about him. He can make you smile in an instant and just make you feel like laughing all day. He runs back downstairs and sits next to me.
"I might have to go home soon. My parents might be coming home later today" I say
"Really?" He asked happily
"Yeah" I say and smile
My parents are always away. I'm 16 so I stay home a lot but it's boring there so I've been kind of living at Weston's since I last saw them which was about 4 months ago.

I start to get up and he grabs my hand and pulls me back down next to him
"Wait"
"yeah?" I ask
We look at eachother for a solid minute while silence filled the air. He looks down and says never mind
"Are you okay? what's wrong" I say
"Yeah I'm fine. You can go home now. Text me then splash?" he says while looking back up
"sure" I say and smile, get up and leave. Splash was our keyword for opening our blinds while he goes live. I have no idea why splash but since our houses were very close, our windows were almost colliding. I go home to an empty house once again. I open the fridge because I live in there. As soon as I get a snack, I get a text from my mom

mom❤️; sorry honey. We won't be home til next month. Boss is crazy

me; oh. alright

mom❤️; have you just been in the house alone?

me; no i've been at westons like everyday.

mom❤️; hmmmm. No inappropriate behavior right?

me; mom. We're bestfriends, and his parents are always home!

mom❤️; okay. you're just at those teenage stages

me; no i'm not. Have another good month in Arizona😊

I walk upstairs and try not to care. They were never home, I didn't have that many friends and the ones that I did have are busy over the entire break apparently. They just don't want to talk to me. I flop onto my bed and text weston

I open my blinds and wait for him to open his. Soon I see his ugli face appear through my window. He shrugs his shoulder and raises and eyebrow. I call him and wait for his answer.

"hello. what's up?" he asks while I sit on the floor next to my bed.
"so my parents aren't coming back for another month and probably more" I say and see his giddy face drop. He liked my parents and they liked him but they haven't seen him recently. The last time they were here, he was at playlist.
"I just miss them" I say as my eyes start to get glossy but I try to hold the tears
"I know you do. A lot" he says trying to make me feel better and at this point I feel a single tear roll down my face.
"Aw no lili, don't cry. Please" he says looking through the window again
"I'm trying" I say wiping it away
"you're really strong and i'll help you get through it. You're always welcome here. No need to knock. Just walk in" he says and I smile.
"Thank you duckboi"
"you're welcome ratgirl" I laugh
"I need a new nickname"
"BE DUCKGIRL" he yells into the phone
"oh wow. Fine"

"calm down" I say and start dying from laughter

"go live. I need to interact with my followers. I'll be in there in a few"
"okay" he says and hangs up. I close my blinds and grab my laptop while still on the floor. I tweet out a couple times the throw my phone and laptop onto the bed. I get up and sit on my bed and watch weston's broadcast.
