Musical Blues (SPN Band AU. Sabriel)

Warming up

Sam walked into the Band room at Lethbridge High school, looking around for the director, holding his Bari sax in its case, when he saw a student playing Tenor sax alone in the main room. He set his instrument down and walking over, listening as he practiced a solo in one of the many songs on his stand. Sam smiled as he heard him play, listening to the flow of the song until it cut off abruptly, the student looking up at him.

"Can I help you with something?" He asked. Sam stumbled over his words, trying to introduce himself. "I-I'm pretty... That sounded very Sam... I-I mean, I'm Sam. That sounded very pretty. God, I'm a mess...." He takes a few deep breaths to compose himself as the student watched him, very confused. "My name is Sam Winchester. I just moved to this school, and I was looking for the band director. Would you happen to know where he is?"

The student smirked and responded. "Well Pretty, I'm Gabriel. And, the band director isn't here today. He left me in charge while I have band, and this is my off, so I come in here to practice. Come with me. I'll get you set up." He goes over to the table at the front of the room, looking through the music folders. "What instrument do you play, Pretty?"

"It's Sam, and I play Bari sax." Gabriel looks Sam up and down, nodding to himself. "Makes sense" He grabs out the Bari music for each of the songs they play, handing it to Sam in a folder, along with other papers. "Looks like you got a solo in a couple peices. You're our first Bari sax, so you get the honor. Congrats. You can go pick out a locker over in that room, and keep your bari there, and you can come in here and practice with me anytime you want."

Sam smiles and nods. "I think I will do that, thank you. So, When is the Band class?" Gabriel moved over to sit down. "Well, the band class I'm in is next period. The other one is right before this period. Do you have an opening either time?" Sam nods, smiling. "Yeah. Next period."

"Alright then pretty. You wanna warm up and practice?" Sam nods and quickly grabs his Bari out of the case, setting up and sitting down next to Gabriel, pulling out his music and warming up with a few long tones, smiling at Gabriel.
