'You don't deserve him! I can see right through you. All you want is his money.'
'Mother! Please.'
'Don't you see it, honey? She is desperately looking for ways to stay away from work. It's like she wants to get fired!'
'Mother! Another word and I swear I'll-'
*bell rings*
"Oh for Christ's Sake! Just when it got interesting."
Putting my coffee on the table I walk to the kitchen and open the window that's right underneath the main entrance.
"Hello?"
"I have a parcel."
"For me?"
"For Mrs. Clint."
"I'll be right there."
"It's for my neighbor." I mumble as I sign the form.
I place the parcel in front of Mrs. Clint's door and walk back upstairs.
"Great! Now I missed the ending." I hiss as I walk back into the dark living room.
What time is it anyway?
"Oh shit!" I yell out when I catch a glimpse of the clock on the wall.
"I'm gonna be late for work! Again."

I'm rudely awakened by the annoying sound I chose for my morning alarm.
A rooster's crow.
Why would anyone do this to themselves?
Note to self: change alarm sound.
I turn around and peek at my phone. The light is blinding me but I don't need to look at the time.
It's 4.30. I know it's 4.30 because it's the time I wake up. It's the time I've been waking up for work every day for the past five years now.
Why would anyone do this to themselves? The little voice in my head says again.
You don't have to do this! An even smaller one adds.
"Yeah, I do." I say out loud and heave myself off the bed.
