Angels Fall from Heaven

Chapter One: Queen Vanessa

I know that there are probably spelling errors and some of you may think this goes too fast but I have a lot of things planned for this and it is my first story so I hope you enjoy! :)

    There once was a maiden named Vanessa. She had dreamed all her life of becoming queen. But alas, she was stuck waiting in her aunt's palace in the land of the pure. The land of the pure was like a kingdom in the clouds. The Queen watched over the mortals down on earth. It was Vanessa's duty to serve the queen.
    She had no parents as they were killed when she was a child, leaving her to the queen. The queen was so kind. Her name was Jasmine. Jasmine loved all of her people dearly. Vanessa loathed the queen. Everyday she was bossed around by her aunt. But all she wanted was to be queen. She was just known as the unwanted princess who was abandoned as a baby.
Vanessa was supposed to be the heir to the thrown but Jasmine would not stand it. She killed her sister and attempted to kill Vanessa as well and covered it up as an accident. But Vanessa only wanted to live a happy life, and her aunt had taken that away from her.
Vanessa was a lonely child. She had no one to talk to, leaving her with no friends. Her only friend was a little canary she called Sara. It was very rare for a bird to make its way past the clouds and into the spirit realm. Most died before getting that high up in the air. But Sara did, some how. Sara and Vanessa were best friends. The black canary sat perched on the windowsill as she always did.
She started to sing a sweet little tune which made Vanessa awaken from her slumber. "Good morning Sara", Vanessa said as she opened her bright green eyes. Sara let out a small chirp.
    "I best get ready and go see if the queen needs any assistance.","Would u like to come along?" Sara hopped off of her perch and sat on Vanessa's shoulder. Vanessa got dressed and went to the queen's room. She knocked on the door and came in Jasmines room. "Oh there you are Nessa. I was beginning to worry about you." said the queen. "I'm sorry your grace, I must have over slept. I hope you can forgive me." Vanessa replied. "Don't be silly darling. Every woman needs her beauty sleep.","now would you mind helping me to prepare for the dance tonight. We are having a ball."
   After Vanessa fluffed the queens wings and helped her pick a gown, she was exhausted from hours of preparation. "You are dismissed now Vanessa. You may go do as you please." Jasmine said. "Thanks you your majesty." Vanessa then started to head out of the room when Jasmine said "Wait." So Vanessa turned around to see what she had to say. "I was wondering if you would like to come to the ball.","you work all the time and you deserve a little fun once in a while." Vanessa was shocked, she had never gone to a ball before. She had always stayed in her room or helped prepare decorations. A ball sounded like so much fun. She pictured herself dancing the night away in an amazing dress with a dashing man that swept her off her feet. She had dreamed of becoming queen and finding her king. "That is very kind of you, but I have nothing to wear."she said. "Of course you will attend. I will have my best designer in to make you a special gown."
Prince Caleb POV:
"Caleb, get ready for the ball tonight. You were so busy watching the humans that now you only have half an hour to leave."King Charles  said. "Coming father. Just a moment."  I say over my shoulder. I looked at myself in the mirror. I wonder what it's like to be human. To live on earth. All the amazing things to see. One day I'll live there.
   But father says angels wouldn't be accepted on earth. They consider us freaks. My older sister died on that planet. She was curious and went down there. At first they treated her as a goddess, but it turned out they just wanted her powers. They cut off her wings and locked her in a cage. No one knows where she is now. The humans didn't find anything from her. So our secret is safe. The queen of my world showed them forgiveness and we still watch over them today.
    This all happened eight years ago. At her funeral, everyone came, and I saw the most beautiful angel I ever could've imagined. Her beautiful green eyes, her long, chocolate brown hair, her cream colored skin. I have had dreams of her ever since. I do not know of her name. Just that I saw her with the queen. But my father said she was probably a maid or something. Father only wishes for me to marry a royal. Like me. But one day I snuck out of the palace and went into town in the other kingdom. I'd always wondered what it was like to be common, so I wanted to see what it was like.
I decided to go into a shop and then I saw her, the maiden from a few months ago. We started talking but then I saw the queen, Queen Jasmine. Vanessa quickly said goodbye and told me that she hoped to see me again. We have been writing notes to each other ever since, as we have been stuck in our separate kingdoms. I think I am falling in love with her. I hope to see her at the ball tonight. Then we can dance the night away.
I arrive at the ball and she is no where to be found. Many women come to me and wish to dance. I decline, for I am waiting for that girl.
Vanessa's POV:
After a long time of waiting, the ball is finally ready to start. All of the angels in the land will gather here tonight. For it is the Queen's birthday. I get ready to go down. But then I become afraid, what if I don't find him. The man from that night. He had raven black hair, dreamy dark brown eyes, he seemed to be the perfect guy. But I met him at his sister's house funeral. I couldn't approach him because I was with the Queen. But we locked eyes for a moment and it felt like it was love at first sight. A few months after, I met him at a shop and we have been writing to each other ever since. I think I may be falling for the prince.
    I decided to take a chance, I opened my bedroom door and walked down the stairs in my fancy dress Jasmine got me. Every head turned my way and I was a bit embarrassed. I didn't want to ruin the Queen's day. Then I saw him, my Caleb. He approached me and took my hand in his. He leaned over and placed a small kiss on my hand. Then he said "May I have this dance?", and I said "Yes."
