"It feels like forever since we went to a game! Last season ended so long ago!" My best friend said as we got ready for the home opener of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms season. We went to our first game last season and since then we were hooked. We loved the atmosphere, the people, the players, and the game. We went to every game we could and we started to become regulars to games befriending the security for our section. We drove the distance to PPL Center in Allentown. We walked the familiar halls and found section 104 walking down the stairs to our usual seats behind the bench.
"Ladies!" We heard our security guard call to us as we made our way down the steps to our seats
"Felix!" We shouted going to greet him
"And what happened to you?" Felix asked Kelli as she walked down the steps in front of me in her large boot on her foot
"Broken foot" She laughed
"How'd you manage that?" He asked laughing
"Ah ya know accident" She brushed it off
"She was drunk" I interrupted
"Meghan!" Kelli shouted at me annoyed and we all laughed. We made our way to our seats and waited for warmups to start. Soon the lights lowered and the boys skated onto the ice for warmups. Kelli excitedly grabbed my arm as we watched players stop in front of us to stretch and prepare themselves for the game.
"Damn. Sam looks great tonight don't you think?" I said to Kelli watching the large defenseman stretch in front of me
"He does" Kelli said not even paying attention to me watching the other players skate by and I laughed and shook my head. Sam skated by and stopped for a drink looking up toward me and I smiled at him not thinking he was looking at me but then he smiled at me a squirted his water at the glass attempting to scare me...and it worked. I jumped back and he laughed skating away and I smiled to myself 'asshole' I thought to myself.
"What was that?" Kelli said nudging my arm "Did Sam just squirt you?"
"I think so..." I said still unsure of what just happened

"GOOD EVENING PPL CENTER!!" Bowtie Ben said sliding out onto the ice on his knees "TONIGHT WE WELCOME TO BINGHAMTON SENATORS TO PPL CENTER TAKING ON YOUR LEHIGH VALLEY PHANTOMS!" He shouted and Kelli and I grew increasingly more and more excited for the game to begin. The game was a physical one which led to a few brawls and a final score of 3-2 Phantoms after a crazy shootout. You could tell the bench was buzzing after the exhilarating win. Only thing to make it better was that it was picture night so we started making our way to the line to wait to meet some players.
"So who are we going to first?" I asked Kelli scouting out where all the players were to be for pictures
"Sam, obviously"
"Alex for you of course" I smiled as Kelli gushed. The security let us onto the ice and we made our way over to the large frame that was standing closest to the entrance onto the ice. We waited patiently in line before it was our turn for a picture. Kelli went first and thanked Sam and teammate Mark Alt for the picture and then it was my turn. I walked up and said hi to Sam and Mark and turned for my picture. Kelli took a few before she turned to make our way to the next players for pictures.
"Thank you guys, have a great night"
"You too, thanks for being a good luck charm" Sam smiled and winked at me as I blushed "What's your name?"
"Meghan" I smiled turning from him to walk away so I didn't completely unravel right in front of him. What the fuck just happened??
