Chapter 1:

Alexandra looked at Ethan. She still hasn't figured out why he loves her. "I love you because you are you," he would always say when she asked. But, what was great about her? Ethan was the hottest boy in Hilton High School; she was an ordinary girl who never really thought highly of herself. She didn't think she was ugly, but she didn't think she was gorgeous either. Ethan was gorgeous. His deep brown eyes, soft smile, and dark black hair with a purple streak drove her crazy. They had been dating 7 months, and things had been amazing. But, she always thought Ethan didn't love her even though he told her over and over he did. She always felt that way, though. It was probably just her imagination.
"Aly!" yelled Ethan.
She forgot she was staring at him.
"Oh, sorry. I couldn't stop looking at your angel face," said Alexandra.
"Well, thanks. It was kinda creeping me out, though, if we're being honest."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize."
"Okay."
"Wanna go to the mall?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah, sure. You're driving."
"Okay."
The mall was their hangout. Besides Alexandra's bedroom, of course. She kind of hated the mall because of all of the people staring at her. As long as she was with Ethan, though, she felt safe. Ethan understood her. He understands her anxiety, the way she hates big crowds, the way she gets scared to meet new people. He always knew when she was uncomfortable, and she loved that he did. That's one of the reasons she is comfortable with him. She needed him, and without him she was comfortable with him.
"Are you hungry?" Ethan asked unexpectedly.
"I could eat," she replied.
"You want tacos?"
"Sure."
Ethan went to go get tacos, and Alexandra sat a table.
"Hey, Alexandra!" a voice yelled.
Alexandra realized it was Grayson, Ethan's twin brother. They don't look much a like, even though they are identical twins.
"Oh, hey," she said softly.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm with Ethan right now. He's getting tacos."
"Oooh yay! I love tacos!" Grayson said as he sat down.
"Me too."
Ethan came back with a bag full of tacos.
"Hey, Gray. Where's you come from?"
"We came from the same place, bro," Grayson said sarcastically.
"Well, duh."
Alexandra laughed quietly. They ate their tacos and Alexandra noticed that Grayson kept slipping glances at her. What's wrong with him, she thought. She tried to ignore it.
"Eth, you always choose the best taco places," Grayson said.
"I'm a taco expert, Gray."
That's true, Alexandra thought. Grayson still kept glancing at her. She began to feel uncomfortable and tried to get Ethan's attention. He didn't get the hint.
"Ethan, Grayson, I have to go. I have an essay to write for my writing class. I'll talk to you guys later," she said as she started to get up.
"Okay, bye, babe. I love you," Ethan said and blew a kiss.
"What? I just got here!" Grayson exclaimed.
"Sorry, bye. I love you, too, Eth," she said and walked away. She could feel Grayson's eyes on her back. She walked faster. What in the world is going on with him? She kept walking.
     Later that day, Ethan invited Alexandra over to watch a movie. She loved watching movies with him. He was so comfortable and warm.
    "Hey!" Ethan said when Alexandra knocked on the door.
    "Hi, Eth," she smiled.
    Ethan had a whole setup. In his room, he had popcorn on his bed, The Outsiders, Alexandra's favorite movie, on the TV, and their favorite blanket.
   "You look great," said Ethan.
   Alexandra didn't think so. She was wearing her grey sweatpants, no makeup, a GIRLS WIN t-shirt, and her hair in a ponytail.
   "Thank you."
    For about 49 minutes into the movie, they fell asleep together. Alexandra started dreaming about Ethan and her having a family, basically what every tween girl would dream about if they were dating someone. Alexandra felt herself being shifted around, so she opened her eyes.
     "Hey, I completely forgot I have work. Sorry to wake you. You can stay here and sleep if you'd like. I love you, I'll text you when I get done."
     "Okay, bye."
     Alexandra fell back asleep. She started having the dream about her little family with Ethan again. Then, when she was at the part when their youngest child was graduating college, she felt someone sit on the bed next to her. She thought it was Ethan; he probably forgot something. So, she didn't open her eyes. Then, she heard a voice different from Ethan's. It was Grayson's.
     "Ahhh, you look cute when you sleep, " Grayson said, touching her arm.
     Alexandra opened her eyes and sat up. Grayson fell off the bed and looked up at her.
     "What are you doing?!" Alexandra asked loudly.
     "I didn't realize you were here, I'm sorry. I thought Ethan was still asleep. Sorry I woke you."
    "It's fine. It just took me by surprise."
    Grayson nodded and started to walk out, and Alexandra could see him smirking devilishly.
     Was he watching me sleep?Alexandra thought. No, no. Grayson may be weird, but he isn't that weird.
