Deep rose red sheets covered Alia's face as she awoke from a light sleep. Birds from the woodlands outside her window chirped just loud enough to be a natural alarm. Alia fluttered open her golden eyes to the beaming sunlight. Within the streaks of yellow, dust floated in a dance. Using her elbows she lifted herself up. Pain shot like lightning up and down her body. She grunted, flipping the covers off of her. Mud smeared the sheets and cuts covered her from head to toe. It must have been a rough night.
It wasn't easy being a mixed blood. With every half moon the blood within those who are mixed bloods, well, mixed. Turning them into the animal they were fused with as a young child. This fusion wasn't a choice by the parents of the child but at the will of the spirits. The spirits believe it's a blessing to be fused with nature. To be able to balance animal and human within one body. Alia believed it was a curse. She never knew what happened to her during the half moons. Where she had gone, killed, fought or stalked. She was mixed with a black panther. Beautiful she may be, but deadly as well. Alia keeps herself hidden away in the woods. Only traveling into town for her work and friends, nothing more. Knowing she might being in a bad state the morning after a half moon, Alia requested off work from the ice cream shop today.
Swinging her filthy legs off the bedding she placed her feet on the cold floor. Working full time at a ice cream shop doesn't get a girl much money. Alia was able to afford a one bedroom one bath house. It's enough for her and her dog Rugby though.
Flicking on the water to the shower, Alia started stripping herself of twigs and leaves stuck to herself. Inspecting even inch so she wasn't seriously injured. It was a normal process now. 20 years of transformation into a wild cat tends to teach a girl a few things about her own health. Alia stepped into the steaming shower and let the mud slid off her. Washing her jet black hair was next after her skin.
The morning routine that she normally held for herself was not going to take place today. She needed rest for her aching body and mind. She feared her next transformation. Changing her sheets, Alia crawled back into bed and waited for night to pierce the skies.

The town fluttered with word about the beast in the woods they heard last night. Dogs barked all night at what seemed like nothing until an older man came into town claiming to see a wild cat stalking the woods. Fox ignored the chatter in the diner as he waited for his father at a table. Fox looked down at his phone. It was getting late in the evening and he wasn't going to put off his camping for much longer. The diner bell rang and a dark figure stalked in. Lucian sat across from Fox.
"Hello son." Lucians deep voice seemed to rattle the room into a quick but not long lasting silence.
Fox glared across the table. "Father." He nodded. A waitress came up with a glass of Dr. pepper for Lucian. He looked up at the young girl and gave a pearl white grin. "My favorite. Thank you."
As the waitress strutted away and Lucian watched her bum switch, Fox stirred in his seat.
"Can you not use mind control to get whatever you want from humans!?" Fox whisper yelled a crossed the table. Lucian turned to his son and batted his dark brown eyes in pout.
" But son it's so fun." Lifting the glass of soda pop to his lips " you can't tell me you haven't used it to get a girl into your bed." Lucian chuckled darkly.
Fox found it disturbing within himself that he has done this to women. Even though he was part demon he had human within him too. They seemed to battle constantly inside of him.
"Did I strike a nerve?" Lucian questioned with a glint of victory in his eye.
" I was just thinking. Why did you want to meet here anyway? What do you want?" Fox started to get annoyed with Lucians presence. Lucian snarled lightly and pushed away his drink.
" The contract has been renewed. There's another mixed one here."
Fox began to laugh and leaned in towards his father. "Did you really think the devil was going to let you get away with bringing him just one?" Fox laughed harder at his fathers seemed stupidity.
Lucian got up from the table and nodded towards outside. Fox got up , grabbing his camping bag and threw down a $20 for the waitress. As they got outside Fox lit a cigarette for him and his father. Puffing in silence, Lucian began to laugh.
"What's so funny?" Fox asked.
Lucian turned to his son and pulled the contract out of his lather jacket.
"This is the contract I signed 66 years ago before your dumbass was born. Because your only a half demon you can't undo this!" Lucian shoved the contract into Fox's hands snapped his fingers and like a puff of smoke he was gone. Fox looked around in shock. He stomped out his cigarette and opened the paper. There at the very bottom next to his uncles signature ( Lucifer) was his. He was bound to kill mixed bloods forever.
