The Hallway Should Be Empty

Part One

My name's Riley. I'm 14 years old. I like bands like Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance, and so much more! My mom is moving me into a boring town. Dad didn't want me anymore so he left. I didnt want to move away from what little friends I had. I'm not what you people call the social type. I prefer to stay by myself. It's easier that way.

We finally pull up in the driveway. "Boring." I say. "It is quite dull, but you'll love it in no time!" Mom says with a smile. I get out of the car. I open the trunk and grab what I brought. Mostly clothes. My wardrobe is mostly black. I dont go to public school or private school. I'm homeschooled. I'm not going to get into why I'm homeschooled, it'll bore you to death. Enough about myself.

I walked up the worn cobblestone path. All around me dark clusters of leaves formed. The flowers and leaves are dead, but then again everything is dead. Mom trails behind. I step up onto the creaky porch. "Beware." A voice whispered. I jumped. "What? Who? Why?" I asked in a panic. Where was mom at when I needed her? A lady with long white hair and piercing grey eyes stepped out of the darkness. "Beware of what dwells in this house. Leave while ye still can." The lady cackled. I felt a chill go down my spine. Maybe it's just a neighbor trying to scare me. At least I hope she wasn't our neighbor. My eyes started to tear up and so I blinked. In the blink of eye she was gone.

"Mom! Did you see that?!  There was an old lady and next thing you know she was gone!" I felt like I was already going insane and I hadn't even been at this house for a few minutes. "Riley what on earth are you talking about?! Are you feeling okay honey?" Mom put her hand on my forehead. "I'm okay mom, but I swear there was a lady right there a few seconds ago." I pointed to where the lady had stood. "Lets just go in and get you a glass of water." Mom went to put her key in the lock, but the door had creaked open.

This place just started getting creepier and creepier....
