Music blasted through my ear buds as I jogged through the town. The night smelled of earth after the rain. The moss that covers the trees were still damp and the dirt printed with the fresh animal prints. I was running in the forest the laid above the town. I could see perfectly with the full moon shinning above. The trees casting long shadows a crossed the trail. The sound of the lively animals with in the forest thrilled me to go deeper. I wasn't scared of the things that come along with the night. In fact, it made me calm, the night comforted me. It was the only thing keeping me sane in this small town.

I circled back around and jogged to my house. I opened my little hidden bird house and pulled my house keys out. I unlocked the door to find my dad on the couch passed out with a beer can in hand. I sighed and picked up the mess around him and grabbed a blanket to put over him. His loud snoring told me he was out cold. The bruises on his knuckles meant he probably got into another fight at the bar.

I went upstairs and locked my door, walked passed the dresser that had pictures of me and my mom. She died last year and dad became a drunk. Getting into fights and never keeping a steady job. Placing all the work to me. I got undressed and through my running clothes into the hamper and started the shower. I stood under the hot water for a good thirty minutes before I washed my body. I shut the water off and step out into the steamed up bathroom. I grabbed my soft towel and walked out to my room.

I went to my closet and pulled out a set of black jeans and a black over the shoulder long sleeve top. I put on a black lace underwear and bra set then my outfit. I grabbed my black converse and put them on. I walked into the bathroom and pulled my light blue hair back into a bun. I did my makeup which was a black smoky eye with thick black eyeliner. I let my hair down and straightened it. I shook my mid back length blue hair and put have of it up and the rest down. I flipped my bangs and put a little hair spray to keep them still all day.

I walked down stairs and started a pot of coffee. I looked at the time. 7:36. I started on making my lunch for school and food for my dad for when he wakes up. I made him some soup and put it the oven to stay warm. I made myself some white rice with a dumpling next to it and put it in a box for me later. I wrote a note for my dad telling him I left for school and work. I placed it on the table next to a cup of water a few aspirin for him.

I grabbed my school bag and my car keys. I drove my mom's car which was a black Chevrolet charger. I started the car and headed to school. I didn't have a first period so once I arrived to my high school I still had a good two hours before I had to go to class. I put my ear buds in and played what people call 'emo' music.

I walked into the library where the librarian likes me the most because I organize her books after the students mess them up. I help around the school because I don't have anyone here to hang out with. No one here will talk to me besides the teachers. I'm the only one who really passes here.

After I helped out in the library I went to head to my locker, as I walked past the office the attendant who sat up front called me over. I walked in the office to see what she wanted. There was a tall boy dressed in black with a beanie standing in the corner.

"Dawn this is our newest student; he has all the same classes as you. I would like for you to show him around since you have so much free time." Josie said. I nodded and walked outside with the new kid following me.

We walked in silence as we headed to my locker. "Can I have your paper so I can show you to your locker?" I asked.

He handed me the paper and his locker was in the same wing as me. It was right next to mine as well. I handed it back to him and lead him to the top of the school. This school was set up to where there are five levels. The school sits on a large hill. And our lockers where at the top. It took us about ten minutes to reach the top.

I walked to the locker and pointed at his. We both had top lockers. At this school you are able to wear what you want and do what you want with your locker. I painted mine black with a music notes with a violin. In side were a bunch of picture of me and my parents.

I saw him staring at me in the corner of my eye. I grabbed my books and put them in my leather backpack that had a drawstring with studs. I shut my locker and locked it back up. I took him to the student store where he can get his books. The bell rang signaling that first period was over.

Now here we go, the worst part, students that all hate me. Great......
