' Ladies and Gentlemen please remain seated until the seat bell light is turned off' A voice boomed around the airplane. I sat back in my seat and sighed. We had just been on an 9 hour flight from London To Arizona and I wanted to finally get off this cramped, claustrophobic plane. I've always hated plane journeys just the thought of being however many feet high in the air and not being able to get off whenever you want scares me. Finally the seat belt light flashed off and I unbuckled my belt and stood up to stretch. My dad handed me a bag down from the luggage compartment. I put my phone and headphones in my sweatpants pocket before swinging the backpack over my shoulder. The plane slowly emptied and my mum, dad and I exited. I didn't really understand the whole airport process so I let my parents handle that and before I knew it we were walking over to collet our new truck so we could drive to our new house.
After a long drive we finally pulled up to our new house. At first I thought we had the wrong address as the house was insanely big, a lot bigger than our house in London but when my dad got out the car I realised I was going to be living here. I opened the car and stepped out I was speechless. The house was amazing. It was a tan colour with a brick roof. There was palm tree's and small flowers out the front and a small pond in the corner of the front garden with a little waterfall. ' Well, this is it,' My dad said with a massive smile across his face. My mum and I walked over and pulled him into a group hug. We were finally getting the new start we had been needing. We pulled out of the hug and went to grab our suitcases. I dragged the suit case up to the front door as my dad unlocked it. I stepped inside, it was even more amazing inside. There was an open plan lounge the connected to a massive kitchen. The floor was marble and when you looked down you could see your reflection. I stepped towards the spiral staircase in the corner of the room.
'Go on, go pick your room then. You have five to choose from,' My mum laughed. I squealed and ran upstairs. There was a massive hallway that went on for what looked like miles. I walked into the first room, it was the main bedroom which was obviously my parents room. I moved onto the next one, it was a smallish room with mint green wallpaper and a grey carpet. It was cute but a bit too small. I checked all the room until I got to the last one. It was behind a corner, completely hidden from the rest of the house. I opened the door and instantly fell in love with it. It was at the very front of the house and had a balcony. The room was a medium size with a lot of space and storage. It had a white carpet and very light grey wallpaper. There was a joint bathroom and a walk-in-wardrobe . I exited the room and ran down the hall and down the stairs. I walked through to a massive room with incredibly high ceilings where I had heard my parents voices.
'Mum, I know what room I want.' I said grinning.
'Well then take your stuff upstairs and unpack the delivery van will be here soon with furniture and stuff so take your suitcase upstairs'
'Okayyyyyyyyy,' I said dragging out the 'y'. I ran back upstairs, this time carrying the suitcase. When I reached the room I decided to go check out the view from the balcony. I opened up the doors and breathed in the fresh air as the heat hit my face. I looked around and heard a faint laugh coming from the street beyond the gate. I looked over the gate and saw two guys walking past and laughing. They looked through the gates into my front yard. One of them began to open the gate and they both walked through. My first thought was ' I have to tell my dad, their going to steal stuff from us' but they seemed too loud to be trying to sneak into my house. As they got closer one of them looked up and saw me. He was a tallish guy with brown hair that looked like it had blonde tips but it might have just been the way the light was hitting it. He was wearing a grey hoodie with black jeans and black and white superstars. The other boy had the same hair colours but his hair was straighter. He was a little smaller than the other but he was dressed pretty much the same except he had a black hoodie. I watched them walk up to the front door and then I heard the door bell ring. I stayed on the balcony. I heard the door open and my dad said ' You must be our neighbours,'
'Um yeah,' One of them said looking awkward. Suddenly a woman opened the gate and walked up to the door. She shook hands with my dad and introduced herself. They spoke for a while, while the two guys just stood awkwardly. My mum came to the door and before I knew I had been standing on this balcony for 10 minutes just listening to the conversation that was happening below.
'Maddie, come down here and meet our new neighbours please,' I heard my dad shout from below me. I was really nervous to meet them, I always am when I have to meet new people. I slowly walked down the hall and down the stairs to the front door. 'Maddie, this is Christine,' He paused. The woman gave me a friendly smile and my dad continued. There was another boy standing with them now that I hadn't seen come in the gates. ' And her sons Hunter, Brandon and Ashton,' He gestured to each boy when he said there name. Seeing them up close they were all pretty cute, the tallest was the cutest though. I think I heard his name was Hunter I wasn't really listening. He had the most amazing green eyes and his hair looked so fluffy and just ugh he was one of the most adorable people I had ever met. I was soon snapped out of my gaze as my mum coughed, nudging me at the same time.
'Oh um, I'm Maddison but I prefer to be called Maddie.' I said nervously looking down at the ground. I just looked at the ground and twirled my hair around my finger as I was too nervous to even look up, damn you anxiety.
After another 10 minutes that felt like hours my parents invited them in. I saw this as my chance to run upstairs so I did. I ran too my room and started breathing so heavily. I was going to have a panic attack. I lay down on the floor (as my bed wasn't built yet) and took deep breaths. I closed my eyes and imagined my own little fantasy world like my old therapist back in London had taught me. Life in London was weird, I didn't have the accent. I don't know why but my accent was different from everyone else's. I was suddenly snapped out of my calming thoughts by a a knocking on my door. I jolted, sitting up. 'Whos there?'
'It's us, your mum told us to come up here and see if you were okay,' I instantly knew by the strong American accent that it was one of the guys I had just met. I couldn't tell their voices apart yet so I just accepted that it was one of them. I stood over and was faced with the cause of my previous panic attack. Hunter. The other two were there as well but he was closest to my door.
'Um, yeah sure come in. You'll have to sit on the floor though cause I have no furniture yet,' I let out a nervous laugh.
'Its cool,' The second tallest said, I had completely forgot his name. Once I got talking to them I discovered his name was Brandon. He was a really sweet guy but he seemed quite serious compared too the other two. I found out Ashton was only ten but he was hilarious and adorable so I didn't mind being around him. I didn't know how old the others were so I took a guess and said Hunter was 16 and Brandon was 13 which Brandon corrected me in saying - ' Well you were a year off for both of us, Hunters 15 and I'm 14. what bout you Maddie?
'I'm 14,' I smiled. Brandon was kind of cute too. Wow, I just met the guys and already think they're cute. I sarcastically thought to myself.
A few hours pasted and the 3 boys left my house. It was only 7pm but I had a really long day so I decided to get some sleep. I got ready for bed and got under the covers. I shut my eyes a drifted off into sleep.
