"Well, ready to start decorating?" I asked Paige, and she nodded.
It was Saturday, and Paige and I were standing in her new room, boxes spread about. Dawn was hanging out with her best friend in the living room, and I could hear their conversation.
"I adopted Evelyn's best friend"
"Aw. Why?"
"Drunk mother killed her father. Mother is in jail for life. Siblings living with aunt."
"Oh did you hear about Adam's new girlfriend?"
My blood ran cold at her words. Paige and I just stared at each other. Even the living room was silent.
We did a guerilla-warfare walk downstairs and stood there, watching the two.
"Umm, no I haven't. We don't talk anymore or anything. But we just broke up?" Dawn said, flabbergasted.
I did not blame her, they did just break up. The fuck Adam? Personally I did not give a shit either. He broke my sister's heart, and hopefully his new girlfriend breaks his.
"Well, her name is Alesa. I looked at her Instagram and stuff a bit, she seems nice," her friend replied back, and Dawn just sighed.
Paige and I quietly hustled back upstairs and into her room.
"Well, shall we get started?" I asked, and Paige nodded.
We opened her labeled boxes so we knew what to unpack then. Thank god the idiots labeled them.
She had a lot of photos of her family. When she pulled out a photo of Lydia and Brody, she just stared at it deeply. Then she bit her lip, and I could tell she was trying not to cry.
"Aww, Paige. Hurry and put it on a shelf before the first tear falls," I advised her, and she scurried to a shelf and did so.
Afterwards, we moved around her room placing stuff wherever she wanted, and soon we got into a smooth groove.
Hours later, we had finished, and Dawn's friend had left. Dawn came in, and a smile lit up across her face.
"Wow girls, this looks amazing," she exclaimed, looking around.
We smiled proudly and went out with Dawn to go start dinner. The whole girlfriend thing with Adam seemed quite weird, especially since they broke up.
(A/N: Sorry it took me awhile to update! The whole thing with my grandma just pressured me, and I never got to this. Probably only chapter for tonight for this. I have laundry and homework ._.)
