The grass was soggy and squished beneath my feet, it had snowed yesterday, not enough to stick, just the kind that melted and then turned to rain.

Which it was right now, like always, a steady stream of water droplets and gray clouds colored the sky limiting sunlight and warmth. But I didn't care.

"You should have put some shoes on," Jake said, as we entered the woods. "Your feet are gonna freeze and get gross."

"Says you," I say smiling, "The guy that sleeps on the ground and runs through the woods every day."  I hopped up on a large rock and jumped up, grabbing a branch from the tree above, swinging on it, and letting myself fly until-THUMP.

I landed smoothly on the ground and turned to grin at Jake.

"Show off," he muttered. "Sides Blondie won't let me sleep at your house, not that I'd want to it smells so bad-so its not really my fault I sleep outside."

Ugh. I loved Jake but he and Rose needed to get past their Hate On The Other agenda. Rose hated him, and while I've asked her many times to just stop she tells me that she would when he did. And that he deserves it.

"Her name is Rose-a-lie, Jacob you can really try being polite on of these days you know. Its worth a shot." I dragged out each syllable slowly, and rolled my eyes.

                  "Whatever," he said. "Lets go."

We raced through the woods with a odd kind of energy. I could tell Jacob was upset, but putting on a brave face for me.

Today was our last day in Forks. There were rumors of me, a 14 year old child that looked exactly like Bella and Edward, who were said to have left for University of Alaska. Our family had recently angered the Volturi and nothing would please them more than an excuse to destroy us.

So we packed up our belongings, and picked out a large house in a small dreary town in Northern Maine. The weird thing was was that we would all be living in a house together, like as Dad said, before he moved out with mom. That was weird, I mean I loved my family but I really did not need to have them all living a few doors down from me.

The main thing was Jacob. He being the Alpha of his pack, couldn't exactly pack up and leave, but things had changed, though he still felt uneasy abou tit. Leah left the pack on my first birthday, and went off to a college in Europe, apparently. Seth, now seventeen, was finishing high school. Seth would probably join Jake's ex pack when he left.

"Are you done?" Jake asked. We were supposed to have been hunting but I wasn't really thirsty and was distracted. So I didn't.

"Yeah," I lied. He could obviously see right through it, but made no comment.

And Grandpa. He would visit us in Maine, we could never return to Forks, but I would miss him. And get this-I have to go to SCHOOL with my parents, relatives and Jacob. Except for Carlisle and Esme. I'm posing as a freshmen the rest as juniors. By the time my junior year comes we will have to leave as hey, I'm not aging!

Jake could feel my stress, and he rubbed my back as we slowly walked back toward my house. I pressed my palm on his arm, conveying my prior thoughts to him. I could tell Jacob anything.

I'd gotten better at the communicating, before I'd had to touch their faces, because it was closer to their brain. But after practice I could now do it anywhere.

                 "It'll be fine," Jake said.

And we walked toward the light beaming from my house together.
