It was a normal day in the Parker household, and by normal I mean weirdly normal. Nothing had gone wrong in about twenty-four hours, and nothing had been extraordinary. Peter and I were walking home from school. He had found some junk on our way home which made me even more surprised at how good this day was actually going.
"You know you're kinda turning into a pack rat, Peter." I smiled at him and laughed slightly. He rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, look at how good of shape it's in and somebody just left it sitting out." He said so enthusiastically. As we rounded the corner to the block, our apart complex was on I noticed a very nice looking car parked in front of our apartment building.
"Damn," I muttered. "Look at that car," I said, causing Peter to turn his head and look at the expensive car parked on the side of the road. Someone was in the driver's seat, but they looked like they were just waiting around for whoever it was to come back.
"Hey Aunt May," I said as I entered behind Peter.
"Hey," she responded
We took the elevator up and entered the apartment. "How was school today?" Aunt May asked as we entered.
"Okay," we both responded at the same time.
"There's this crazy car parked outside." Peter continued. As I rounded the corner to go sit down on the couch next Aunt May, I saw him. My eyes went wide, and I stood there stunned. It was Tony Stark. Why was Tony Stark in our apartment? That explains to the car and suddenly my day got a whole lot less normal.
"Oh, Mr. Parker." He said he was holding something in his hand, looked like a piece of Aunt May's date loaf. How he even manage to get that down, I have no clue.
He obviously wasn't here for me he was here for my brother, which made me suspicious.
"You must be his girlfriend," Tony said, and I snorted out a laugh.
"I'm his sister, twin sister actually, Emilie Parker." I scoffed. He was not making a good first impression, but in Peter's eyes, he was a god. I don't blame him he was to most people anyway.
Peter was no stumbling over his words. "Um, what are you doing-Hey I'm-I'm Peter." He said with a giddy look on his face.
"Tony," he said simply. I was starting to hate his stuck up rich boy attitude.
""What are-What are you doing here?" Peter questioned the man.
"About time we met, you've been getting my emails right?" He questioned. My head quickly whipped around to face Peter. What the hell was he talking about? We told each other everything, and he had not said anything about emails from Tony freaking Stark.
"Yeah, yeah," Peter responded. "Regarding the...?"
"You didn't tell me about the grant," May said.
"The grant?!" I questioned in an angry tone. He gets a grant, and I don't? What the hell is going on here?
"The September foundation," Tony said.
"Right," Peter said
"Remember when you applied?" Tony questioned. Something was getting fishy here, and I didn't like it.
"Yeah," Peter said apprehensively.
"I approved," Tony said.
"I'm gonna faint," I said as I sat down in one of the chairs next to Aunt May.
"So now we're in business," Tony said as he lifted up a mug and took a sip out of it.
"You didn't tell me anything. What's up with that? You're keeping secrets from me now?" Aunt May questioned.
"Yeah," I said in an angry tone.
"Well, I-I just know how much you love surprises, so I would let you know-Anyway what did I apply for?" He questioned. Smooth Peter, I thought to myself as I narrowed my eyes. Aunt May didn't think anything of it, but I had known Peter for all my life. He was lying, obviously he was hiding something and lying, and I didn't like it.
"That's what I'm here to hash out," Tony responded.
"Okay, hash out," Peter repeated.
"It's so hard for me to believe she's someone's aunt," Tony said, what a suck up. I rolled my eyes and grumbled a little under my breath.
"Well," she said letting out a breathy laugh. "We come in all shapes and sizes you know." She said.
"This walnut date loaf is exceptional you know-"
"Let me just stop you right there," Peter said.
"Good call," I muttered under my breath.
"Is this grant got like money involved or whatever? No...?" Peter questioned. He was so awkward, but that was one of his best qualities.
"Yeah, it's pretty well founded," Tony said he seemed like he was lying out of his ass too. "Look who you're talking to. Could I have five minutes with him?" Tony asked as he looked at Aunt May.
"Sure," she said. Tony got up and followed Peter to his room. I quickly dipped out too, following behind them, but not to where they could see me. Tony shut the door behind them and locked it.
I crouched down and pressed my ear up against the door. They started talking, and Peter said about he didn't apply for his grant. Good, I wasn't going crazy, and he wasn't hiding anything from me.
I heard a crash and some rustling around as they talked about some video, I heard about every other word at this point.
"So you're this Spiderling..." I heard Tony say, that was clear. I furrowed my brow what the hell was he talking about now. "Crime fighting spider. You're Spiderboy?" He continued.
Peter said something else, but I was already on my back trying to process what I had just heard. Was Tony say that my brother, my awkward, weird, nerdy brother was Spiderman. That was insane. That was impossible. It explained all of his bruises that he constantly come home with that I had to patch up. It made sense now. I placed my hand over my face and kept laying on my back.
The door suddenly flung open. Peter exited and saw me laying on the floor.
"Emilie, are you okay?" He asked now concerned. I looked up at him and narrowed my eyes. I got up off the floor and looked at Stark.
"I'm all right," I growled softly. I was angry and confused. I didn't know what to think.
Tony was now talking to Aunt May about something. I looked over at them for a moment, then back at Peter.
"So, um, I'm going to be gone for a few days." He said.
"Where are you going?" I questioned as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Germany." He said. My eyes went wide.
"Ger-?!" Peter suddenly place his hand over my mouth.
"Sh, Aunt May thinks I'm going somewhere else. Please don't tell her. I'll be back in a few days I swear." He said.
"You have a lot of explaining to do when you get back, Peter Parker," I grumbled. He looked me over for a moment then nodded.
"Come on kid," Tony said as he walked toward the door and just like that my brother was gone.
