Chapter two
I woke up in the morning with a post it note taped to my face and a fresh cup of coffee on the table. The post it note read "I left early this morning, there's a plate of eggs on the table and a cup of coffee. love, Sophia."
I ran into the small kitchen and on the table there was indeed a plate of eggs and a cup of coffee sitting right where she said. Sophia was never early for work. Today must be a special day. Then I remembered it was payday for her. Yes! Shopping this weekend. I glanced at the clock and remembered I too had work today
SHOOT! I'm going to be late.
I ran into my room threw on my sundress and some heels and quickly pulled my hair into a loose bun. I quickly walk down the steps of the apartment building and hailed a cab.
I got in and told the driver ''building 34 side A' and he drove to my building, I gave him a tip walked to the lift. I pressed the top level button and quickly walked to the front desk to check the time. "Right on time." Pete said. I ignored him and walked to my office but he followed after me. "So you want to go on a date tonight?" he said. "Pete I'm NOT your girlfriend nor will I ever be" I was getting tired of him and today just really wasn’t the day for this.
“Sassy I like it" he said and walked back to his office. ugh I really don't like him.
I pulled up the patients list to look for my next wisher. I looked and looked until one caught my eye.
Name: Jaylin M. Simmons
Occupation: Orphan Age: 4 years old
Sickness: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
‘I was around that age when I was diagnosed with leukemia.’ Was the only thought I that ocured in my head as I read it.
I quickly sent an email in reply and searched up Sisters of charity orphanage in New York. The email popped up and I emailed the orphanage.
‘Hi, my name is Riley Cade and I would like to inform you that Jaylin M. Simmons has been granted her wish. I would love to meet with you and chat about meeting Jaylin and making her wish come true. Please contact me as soon as possible. Sincerely, The Make a Wish Foundation’
I got a reply only an hour later.
‘Dear Riley Cade, thanks for contacting me, you have no ide how much we’ve hoped that Jaylin would get a wish granted.
First of all the situation is a bit more complicated then so, but if you would like to meet up this week then I’ll let you in on the situation and then you can maybe meet her yourself.

I sent an email back with some dates so that she could look through and email me back with the resultt.I then wrote down everything I needed to for the next day and I was off home. But I never get to go home in peace and quiet am always greeted by Pete. "So about the date tonight..." said Pete but he was rudely interrupted by me giving him a death glare and a loud NO!! shouted in the face.
I stopped by the front desk and said goodbye to Kelly, and then I was finally off to the coffee shop to get a mocha for me and a caramel Frappuccino for Sophia. I walked inside and stood in line until it was my turn. I ordered and the man asked for my name. I went to sit down and waited for my name to be called.'' Drew Peacock (only dirty minds will understand) was called and I walked up while everyone stared at me I could see out of my eyecorner that somebody was trying their hardest not to laugh. I couldn't help but smile myself. I always loved to make people laugh.
I hurried and hailed a cab and drove to the apartment building. I knew that Sophia would be home because she was always home at twelve thirty on pay day.
I ran up the stairs to the top floor and got my key out of my bag. I walked inside to find a happy Sophia on the couch watching TV.
“what's up?”
“nothing but do you want to have a movie night?”
“YES!!!!! we haven't had one in like years.”
”Riley we had one last week.”
“Oh way to ruin my fun Sophia.”
I ran into my bedroom to put on my footie pjs with Minnie mouse all over them. Sophia and I came out at the same time both in footie pjs .Hers had daisy duck all over them.
The first movie we watched was beauty and the beast but right at the end Sophia fell asleep so I started to watch ‘Finding Nemo’ but then at the end I fell into a deep sleep too

It was today I had the meeting with sister Margret and I absolutely could not wait to meet them and Jaylin.
I got up and out of bed, quickly brewed a pot of coffee and woke Sophia up off the couch.
I ran into my room and put on a button down blouse in a crème color and a pair of blue tight jeans. I ran into the bathroom and quickly put my hair up in a braiding and put on some rings aand my leather watch. I then again ran into the kitchen and made a cup of coffee, said goodbye to Sophia and ran outside to hail a cab.
The cab took me to an old Victorian styled building with a playground in the back. I knocked on the door two times before it opened, I walked to the front desk and told the woman who I was and she smiled at me and told me they had been waiting for me. I gave a polite smile back before standing there politely waiting for her to let me enter the office which seemed to be Sister Magret’s judging by the sign at the door.
“Mrs. Cade, you can enter now” The woman said. I gave her a polite nod and took up my note book from my messenger bag, I had an idea I was supposed to remember the information’s I was about to get.
