"Lor, are you awake?" Lorelai's twin brother Luke asked around 3 in the morning, in the room they shared.

"Yeah, you?"

"Not really. I just keep thinking about mom, you know?"

"I do too. I just can't believe after all these years..the cancer actually beat her," Lorelai replied as she started to feel a lump in her throat.

All of a sudden, Luke started to cry. Their room was divided in half; one half was Lorelai's and the other half was Luke's. As Luke continued to cry, the lump in Lorelai's throat was becoming much more prominent. She jumped from under her covers and laid down beside her brother. They cried themselves to sleep that night..

Let me back track for you:

Luke and Lorelai's mother, Diana, suffered from pancreatic cancer, she had been for 5 years. She had died just a week ago. The seventeen years that the twins had known their mother would never have been enough. Diana was the best mother the twins could ask for. She was the "fun" mom. She always wanted to go on some crazy camping trip or ride all the roller coasters at the amusement park. Although, when the news came that she was diagnosed with cancer, the twins' world began to fall apart.

They couldn't believe that such a terrible thing could happen to such a wonderful person. Diana was a Catholic and brought the twins and their father, Quentin, to church every Sunday. The twins caught onto the religion, but their dad..not so much.

"Now whenever anything goes bad in your life and you need someone to talk to, the big guy upstairs is always there for you. Even when you don't think he is," is what Diana would always tell her children.

And so, whenever something wrong happened to the twins they would kneel on the side of their bed and pray.

So the day Lorelai, Luke, and Quentin were in the hospital and heard the long beep on the heart monitor, the twins ran to the chapel and prayed. They prayed that God wouldn't take away their mom, that God would let her live a long healthy life cancer-free. But alas, when they returned to the room, their mother was gone and all they saw was their father sitting, heartbroken.

Now back to the present:

The twins were in the final month of their senior year of high school. They attended one of the most prestigious private schools in Connecticut, Greenwich Academy. They were both straight A students, and had a multitude of extracurriculars, perfect resume for seniors applying to college.

Lorelai had long, thick curly dark brown hair, a trait she clearly received from her African American father. She had caramel brown skin and had eyes as green as the grass. She was the star athlete on her varsity lacrosse team. She was the team captain and already lettered in the sport. Lorelai had already received multiple offers from different schools asking her to play for them. She had accepted the offer to play lacrosse at Columbia University in the coming fall.

Luke, also had very thick, curly dark brown hair, and his eyes were identical to Lorelai's. His facial features matched Lorelai's almost exactly to a tee. He was the star athlete as well, but for the soccer team. On top of that, he was the student body president. He had accepted the offer to attend the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

The twins were the dynamic duo. Until their mother died, just the week before. They felt lost like they were missing something that could never ever be replaced.

Since their mother's passing, they stopped going to practice and their grades were declining. It didn't really affect them since they were already committed to a college. However, the school still notified their father, who could not have cared any less. The only thing that he cared about was the bottle of whiskey that he always managed to find after work.

Despite being one of the most well-known girl's in school, Lorelai was still bullied by the one thing she wasn't sure she could overcome, her low self-esteem. Every day, girls who were far from being her friend, commented on things they thought were flaws. Each time a hurtful insult came out, they chipped more and more at Lorelai's self-esteem.

On the outside, Lorelai looked like the happiest person in the world. But on the inside, it was a whole other story.

"So um.. how was work dad?" Lorelai asked as the three of them sat at the dinner table.

"It was good, a little overwhelming" he replied.

Okay good he's not drunk tonight... at least not yet, Lorelai thought in her head.

"What was so overwhelming?" Luke pondered.

"Well we're trying to close a deal with one of the financiers of the hotel, and they were demanding a lot from us. So we had to weigh our options and see if what they were asking was really worth it."

The twins nodded with interested looks on their faces.

"So how was school?" Quentin asked the twins.

"Oh, you know same old same old. Mean girls, lacrosse practice, normal school stuff" Lorelai answered.

"About that Lor, your coach said you haven't been at practice for the whole week. What's that about?"

"I just didn't feel like going for a little a while... you know because of everything with mom..."

Quentin cleared his throat and continued to eat his dinner. Then after a few seconds, he stood up and went back into the kitchen. He came back with his infamous bottle of Jack Daniels and a glass cup. He poured a little more than he should have and drank it straight.

Quentin slammed the glass down hard, the twins jumped. He stared at his two kids with a look that suggested they should leave the table right away. The twins got up and ran to their rooms.

"So Lor, there's something you need to know" Luke started.

"What is it?"

"I got accepted into this summer camp for soccer and I leave a week after graduation."

Lorelai was in shock. Luke had been there for her whole life. And now suddenly he was leaving. She had known he was leaving for college, but she never thought their summer together would be cut short.

"You're leaving me alone? With dad?! While he's like this?! You can't leave me! You just can't! You're all I have!" Lorelai yelled while tears fell down her cheek.

"Lor! I gotta get out of here! I can't live like this. You'll be fine. You and dad will be fine!" Luke said as he grabbed Lorelai's shoulders.

She knocked his hands off her shoulders and said, "have you seen our father lately? He's been a mess since mom died, and you know it!"

"I just gotta get out of here Lor. And it's not like I'm leaving without saying goodbye. We have a whole week!" Luke tried to find the good side of things. "I think this is just something that I need to do. I need to get my mind off of things here."

"Get your mind off things like your sister?" Lorelai said with hostility in her tone.

"Lor, you're the last person I want to leave behind, but I have to do this. And plus it's just for the summer."

"I'm not okay with this Luke. I don't think I'll ever be okay with this."

"I didn't ask for your permission. I was just letting you know," Luke tried to say without a hint of crudeness.

Lorelai scoffed and went up to their room. On normal nights, Luke and Lorelai would have long talks that put each other to sleep. This night, however, was different. Lorelai turned her back against Luke and Luke did the same.

That night, Luke wondered if his sister would ever forgive him...

Alright! CAMSBAEE HAS OFFICIALLY RETURNED FOR GOOD! or maybe at least until winter break is over.. which won't be for a whole month! Hey guys I decided to start another story that had absolutely nothing to do with Cameron Dallas. I actually got the motivation to start another story because of Jane the Virgin. I started rewatching the show and Jane becoming a writer made me want to write more stories and branch away from my first work on wattpad. Anyways, I'm not sure if anybody will read this, but I hope those who do enjoy it!
