"Well, you coming or what?" Amy asked.

"Coming? Sorry what?"

"Aren't you coming with. Course you are. Not like you have anything better to do!"

"Okay hang on, what makes you think- you know what? Never mind. Why should I come with?"

"Why not?"

You looked back between Amy and Rory and the Doctor. That was the Doctor Amy had been going on about since you were kids. At least, until middle school. After all of the drawings, paintings, small models, stories, after everything, it was so hard to believe he was there. In front of you. In the flesh.

You weren't surprised that Amy was going with him. Rory going with didn't shock you either. But you? You were positive no one asked the Doctor who could go with. He might have thought Amy would try to bring Rory and he was probably fine with it. But three people? Four including himself. The TARDIS wasn't going to be happy about it...

So, thinking no one asked HIS permission, you looked to him. He had been staring at Amy, slightly shocked she kept asking people to go with. Until he noticed your gaze on him. You silently asked permission. You asked if it was okay to come. If it was okay to not only come on adventures but to come into his home. HIS home.

He realized you knew this is his home. Most didn't even think of it. Just a spaceship, that's all the TARDIS was. He thought you would just instantly answer, without a second thought. But there you were, asking his permission. It was refreshing, new, and greatly appreciated. Finally some respect (bit proud of himself ain't he?).

He locked his eyes with yours. It was so odd to him. So odd that a human cared about another's feelings (The Doctor's a bit upset and insulting other species again, he'll stop eventually).

A smile broke out on his face, his eyes lit up. He nodded yes.

Looking back to Amy you responded, "Yeah, sure. Let's go."

A few hours later, Amy and Rory had gone to bed, and you found yourself in a large room. This room had many shelves with things on them. The shelves were covered in files containing words about things. These files are called books and the room is called a library.

You were drawn to a specific book. This book was made out of wood. No, not paper, wood. Actual wood pages in a hide binding and cover. It looked old and that brought more curiosity. Upon opening said relic, the words seemed to have been burned into the pages. Like a carving, only in book form instead of a large sign. It was very beautiful. Very unique.

"Enjoying yourself yet?" a voice asked.

Quickly turning around, you came face to face with the Doctor.

"Yeah, sorry. I just...like books." you quietly replied.

"Ahh, that's no problem is it? Liking something isn't wrong. I do have a question though. Why did you ask?"

"Ask? Sorry, what do you mean?"

"Why did you ask my permission?"

"You would ask to enter one's house, yeah? It was only polite and respectful. Anyway, I'm more than sure Amy didn't ask you if I or Rory could tag along. She's always been like that. Sorry."

"While it is true she didn't ask, I have no problem having a few more around. More the merrier, right?"

The two of you spent about 45 minutes just talking, asking questions, learning about each other. It had been getting late, so it was no shocker that you let out a yawn.

"Time for bed, huh? Come on, I'll show you to your room."

"I get my own room?"

"Course you do. Where else would you sleep?"

He went down a few hallways before stopping at a (favorite color) door. There were no other doors on that side the the hall, but across from it was a blue door, not unlike the TARDIS"s outside color. He seemed surprised your room was in this hallway, but continued regardless.

"Well, (Name), here we are."

He opened the door and stood to the side, allowing you to look around.

It was breathtaking.

Darkly colored walls, covered in dark blues, purples, greens, pinks, all swirled together creating the illusion of a night sky. A strip along the wall looked not unlike the Milky Way Galaxy. Glitterly and colored bits scattered the walls, creating stars and planets. There were shelves along the wall, at different heights. They held leather bound journals, either stacked or stood showing the spine.

A large bookshelf stood in the back. It held figurines of strange, alien creatures, small orbs that looked like planets, books about other words no doubt.

The bed was on the other side of the room, in the center of the wall. A very extravagant

headboard captured your attention. Ebony in color, with scattered points of white and gold, creating another starry sky look. You attention was then brought to the sheets. A bit of random choice for such an extravagant room. The blanket, sheets, pillowcases, etc had Van Gogh's Starry Night on them. It looked odd compared to everything else, but that did not take anyway any beauty.

The Doctor smiled, watching you look in awe. The TARDIS really liked you, he could tell. This was no easy task to put together.

"D-Doctor I...I can't even...I don't."

"It's alight. Just breath okay?"

"How did you....it wasn't you though was it? We've been together this whole time..."

"You're right, I didn't do anything. She did it."

"She?"

"The TARDIS. She must really like you. She's never made anything like this before."

He patted the wall, much like a well behaved child's head.

"The TARDIS...huh. Thanks uh, TARDIS? Is that really her only name? Should really work on that."

His smile widened. You just thanked the TARDIS. That was not something everyone did. You were so different from everyone already. Perhaps your interests, likes, and dislikes were similar to many humans, something about you was different.

"Well, go on. Off to bed. Tomorrow we'll set off on an adventure." The Doctor said before walking out.

"Good night, Doctor."

"Good night, (Name)."

He shut the door and continued back to the control room.

There were some conveniently placed pajamas on the foot of the bed you changed into. Then you placed your cloths in a basket that was set near the bookcase.

Climbing into bed you let out another gasp. The ceiling was a window. A window that could see the outside of wherever the TARDIS was. Currently you were in space, obviously. It was just floating about, waiting for the Doctor to drive her somewhere dangerous and scary.

You almost wanted to cry. You didn't really deserve all of this. This was much too special for you. You didn't do anything.

"Thank you." you whispered to the TARDIS.

A small groan came in response.

And with the image of far away solar systems and galaxies, you drifted off to sleep.
