Abby's POV:
I thought about Chris and how sweet it was for him to have waited for me.
I wish I could have walked with him, but of course in stuck working at Kiddie Land!
Basically a place where parents take there little brats to run around and play games. I work at the prize counter, kids bring there tokens to me and I add them up and then they choose a cheap prize that will break before they get to the car!
Walking up to the multi color building I opened the door and I tried to avoid the screaming children that were running all around me. The sounds of games, music and again screaming blared into my ears. Parents yelled at the toddlers who 'forgot' that they had to pee, middle aged children played ski ball, and the teenagers just sat in the booth on their cell phones.
"Hey Abby! Your working the salad bar today!" I walked up to Todd with a look of disappointment, although I didn't like working the prize counter it seems a lot easier serving children rather than adults.
Todd just smiled and handed me an apron and a pair of plastic gloves,
"What happened to the prize counter?"
"Uh I've got Mia working it," we both looked over at Mia who was bitting her nails and reading seventeen magazine. Let's just say she's not the smartest,"she's better off working with children"
I just nodded and headed to the staffing area to put away my book bag and change into my uniform.
I bet your wondering why I'm working here if I hate it so much?
Well it's a LONG story.
The reason my family and I moved to Canada, was because of my father.
He was abusive towards my mom and my little brother, both physically and mentally. After years of dealing with the abuse my mother finally divorced my father, he was shocked and upset.
He tried to kill my mother on her way to work, she was driving and the car started to loose friction. She almost flew off of the road, but thankfully she made it to a mechanic in time, only to find out that my father had stripped the breaks on the car.
We moved to Canada to start a new life, and since my dad was the sole provider in the family my mom had to relocate her job and I had to get one.
"Hey. Abby?" A familiar voice sounded from behind me.
I turned around to see Gabby standing in front of me,
"Oh, hey Gabby!" I smiled
"I didn't know you worked here?" She cocked her head to the side and picked up a salad plate
"Uh yeah unfortunately I do," we both laughed, "what kind of salad do you want?" I asked grabbing her plate
"Um, how about the chicken garlic!"
I nodded and went about making the salad. I felt awkward as I could feel her eyes on me, literally, burning a hole into my face!
I quickly handed her the salad,
"Here you go!" I didn't mean to sound rude but it just came out so fast I couldn't stop it.
"Hmm ..... That was rude, don't ya think?" She asked in an unfamiliar arrogant tone
"What's going on over here?!" Todd asked, walking over fixing his 'Manager' tag.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out like that,I was just rushing"
I saw a small smile crawl upon her lips as she flipped her hair in satisfaction,
And Todd nodded walking back to his 'office'.
So she's an official Winch!
The rest of my day at work was sort of a blur. All I kept thinking about was getting out of there!

Chris's POV:
Once I got home Tina was packing up, about to go home.
"Why are you all smiley?" She asked me as I sat my bag down in the living room. I nearly ran into the fridge trying to find FOOD! I was literally, starving.
"I'm not smiley!" I said while reaching into the freezer and pulling out a frozen pizza, I turned the oven on and popped it in.
"Yes you are. Is it a girl?" I almost choked on my own spit! She was looking me directly in the eyes now, just freaky!
"Uh not that I know of!" I said truthfully, I mean I'm over Gabby and I don't even know Abby!
She gave me a tight hug and then looked me in the eyes again, "I know there's someone. But I understand if you don't want to tell me!"
I rolled my eyes at her very noticeably!
She just shook me and began walking out of the house.
I just ignored the thought that I possibly might already have feelings for Abby.
