I take in my uncle's beaten appearance before turning in the direction of his captor.
"Let him go," I demand. "He'll die if his injuries aren't properly treated. You must let him go. I-I'll do anything."
"Chatlh!" he shouts in what I recognize as K...
I sit on the edge of the universe, bored out of my mind after just having witnessed the brutal battle between the Federation and the Borg at Wolf 359:
The USS Melbourne was one of the first ships to be destroyed, with its saucer section partially vaporized while approaching the battle scene. The USS Saratoga was quickly neutralized, afterwards.
When the USS Yamaguchi and the USS Bellerophon rushed to rescue the disabled ships, they, too, were destroyed, along with numerous other starships entering the combat zone.
Their valiant efforts notwithstanding did not prevent the eventual destruction of the USS Saratoga and the USS Bonestell.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise, had been kidnapped and assimilated by the Borg around six days before, and he led the battle from the Borg side as Locutus.
After only a few minutes of combat, the Federation had been utterly defeated. Admiral J. P. Hanson, the leader of the Federation side of the battle, tried to rally his remaining troops for one final assault on the Borg, but his ship was destroyed not long after.
Ultimately, out of the the 40 ships that had gone into battle on this day, only 39 of them were destroyed.
There was a total loss of nearly 11,000 lives and many of them were assimilated.
The Enterprise, who had been forced to sit the fight out after suffering damage to its deflector array and warp core during a run-in with the Borg before the battle had begun. They arrived to the scene to find no life signs or readings from any of the remaining hulks.
I'm a little vague in the details, but the Enterprise recaptured Jean-Luc and were able to use his link to the Borg as a way to destroy the cube.
I left shortly after, not wanting to stick around to any longer.
Realizing that Wolf 359 is only about seven or eight light years away from Earth, I make my way there, dropping down in a village called La Barre in Eastern France.
Exploring the village and how all the people there they go about their normal, boring lives at this time of night, I eventually find myself wondering into a place known as Chateau Picard.
"I vaguely recall Jean-Luc mentioning a place like this, I say to myself. "Perhaps this is his childhood home."
AsI walk through the vineyard, I feel an all-to-familiar smile beginning to creep onto my face as an idea hits me:
If I am not able to bother Picard at the moment, then what better way to kill time then by messing with his family! I laugh to myself. Q, you are a genius!
I spot a house a little ways up the road. Snapping my fingers, I find myself in what appears to be an attic, turned bedroom.
